2015: You Win Some…

And so – here we are at the end of another year. Was it a winning year for you? Every year I look back on my comping successes (and failures) and reflect on what a fantastic hobby we have!

WIN! At the end of the post you’ll find details of how YOU can win a £50 Amazon voucher in my #SuperLuckyStories prize draw!

So, how successful was I in 2015?

My biggest success this year was the publication of SuperLucky Secrets, finally achieving my ambition to write a book to help people get into comping. I also published another Kindle book, Blog Giveaways, with advice for bloggers. I was invited to speak about prize promotions at BritMums Live bloggers conference, shortlisted for an ‘outstanding contribution to blogging’ award at the MADs and recorded a new BBC money-saving show Right on the Money Live. SuperLucky.Me is getting more visitors than ever, and I’m getting daily emails, messages and tweets from people telling me about their comping successes. Overall, it’s been an amazing year!

But what about the prizes?

In many ways, comping took a back seat this year as I concentrated on writing and marketing SuperLucky Secrets. I squeezed in a few comps wherever I could, but didn’t find the time to enter as many creative ones as I would usually. Over the year I won a total of 152 prizes, with a total value of £14,541 – I keep track using a Google Drive spreadsheet, which I recommend doing if you don’t already. A third of those prizes were won on Twitter! After seeing Ryland fascinated by unboxing videos, I realised we should start making our own – and in April I started the #prizeunboxing playlist on my YouTube channel, with each monthly film getting over 1000 views!

My biggest win was £1000 Selfridges vouchers and a new camera worth £450, a prize from Olympus in their ‘red lips selfie’ competition. I held on to the vouchers until Christmas and used them to treat the family to some lovely presents!

My favourite prize was the family trip to Legoland in Denmark, won with Shell, which was as exciting for my husband and I as it was for Ryland and his cousin! Here’s my winning photo:

Back in January I won an iPhone 6 in the Silver Bay Point Facebook competition, where you had to take a photo with their wine box. This had very few entries, but ten iPhones up for grabs.

In the same month I was announced as the winner of Harvey’s Furniture’s Christmas Pinterest competition, winning £1000 of vouchers with my cosy Christmas board:

Follow Di’s board Cosy Christmas with the Cokes! on Pinterest.

Ryland loves sushi belts in restuarants, so we created one at home for him. A few months later, Yo!Sushi asked for fans to share photos and videos on Facebook for a competition and we won sushi school for two with our mini movie!

A video posted by superluckydi (@superluckydi) on

We did some fun tennis themed photos with a giant ball for the Wimbledon comps, and I won an Evian goodie bag…

New app ASAP54 ran a competition to create a moodboard, and my Leigh Lezark sunglasses board won me £300 ASOS vouchers

Screen Shot 2015-12-16 at 17.46.27

I explored South Wales with my camera, winning a pair of pyjamas with this photo taken in Margam Country Park…

…and an annual Adobe Creative Cloud membership (worth £360, and a prize off my wishlist!) with a photo of the green door on our holiday cottage!

Ryland loves his football, and won us a VIP trip for 4 to see Arsenal v Chelsea with his skills:

Ry also won £100 of football gear plus tickets to the Community Shield (his first trip to Wembley) with McDonalds Grass Roots Football #CelebrateBetter campaign, where you had to share a photo of your child’s goal celebration. I entered several times, but I think this one was the winner:

SyFy channel sprayed ’12 monkeys’ promotional stencils in 6 locations around the UK which you had to track down and photograph – the Brighton one had less than 10 entries, and I won £500!

A2 Milk wanted selfies with their product (which was tricky to find!) and I was one of their daily £100 Tesco voucher winners. It was nice to see a few SuperLucky fans go on to win in this one too!

Levi’s gave away fifty £100 vouchers in their #LadiesinLevis Instagram competition – although they needed a lot of badgering from entrants before they awarded all the prizes (and I even think there were less entrants than prizes in the UK!). You had to portray your first time doing something in your new Levis – mine was ‘time travelling’!

Other nice prizes included a dishwasher in a Tesco/Fairy text prize draw (posted on the Compers News forum), £250 holiday vouchers with The Little Domain, £250 Hamleys vouchers from Shopomo, £250 vouchers with BHS and an iPad with QuiddiCompare (all Facebook prize draws).

How successful were you in 2015? Did you keep a spreadsheet of your wins? Leave a comment and let me know!

WIN a £50 Amazon voucher!

Every year I share my own creative wins, and then ask for SuperLucky readers to send in their own for my SuperLucky Stories series. I’ll be publishing posts about YOUR 2015 wins  – and I’ll be picking one contributor at random to win a £50 Amazon voucher. I always love to hear about your wins in photo, video, tiebreaker and creative competitions, but this year I’d love to hear about any win you feel proud of – no matter how small. So whether it’s a Munch Bunch iPad or a Costa £5 voucher, get in touch and tell me all about it!

To take part, send an email to di@superlucky.me (use ‘SuperLucky Stories’ as the subject line!) telling me about the competition, what you did to enter and the prize you won before 31st January 2016 – if it was a creative comp, attach your winning entry or send a link if you can! I’ll only publish your first name with your contribution, and you can tell me about just one of your 2015 prizes, or as many of your wins as you like.

Thank you so much for reading and contributing to my SuperLucky blog – and best of luck with your comping in 2016!

Terms & Conditions: SuperLucky Stories prize draw

2. Entrants can send as many emails, photos and stories as they like, but each person will only get one entry in the draw

Since I started in November, I have won a few prizes, a cuddly toy from Longleats Advent photo competition, a £25 top for my little boy on Instagram, a Lenovo portable power block from Lenovo’s advent, a spa day for 2 at one of Champney’s spas, a loungewear set, a stationary set, four tickets to our local pantomime, four tickets to a local show, five tickets to go ice skating with Santa on Christmas Eve. So thankful for all your tips!! I am so hooked on this hobby! Xx

  • sonseyface

I’ve had a quieter year this year than last, but still have been lucky enough to win lots of jewellery, make up, lunches out, phones, £500 of joseph joseph products, iphone watch, video camera, sunglasses, clothes, vouchers, sensory tubes, plus lots and lots of little prizes. We seem to be very lucky with games consoles, we have never bought one yet. I also won tickets to chelsea flower show and best of all I just won an £1800 fridge freezer in an advent competition!! Im totally over the moon with it….I just need to win a cooker and I have managed to replace nearly every electrical appliance in my house 🙂 xx Thank you so much for all your tips. Its a wonderful hobby for free 🙂

  • Ayse

My favourite win was from an advent trunki, I was so excited when I saw the post and quickly mooched over to see what day I had won… although I didn’t win the biggest day I won something so useful for me. A gummee glove (which I wanted to buy for my nephew) and a travel pillow and strap for my little girl. We do lots of driving between wales and London so it will be lovely for her 🙂 I want to get more organised with comps next year and aim for the big prizes and hoping for a little getaway for me and my family x

  • Louise Gardener

I have won a lovely shaggy rug from Carpet Right FB page, Some gorgeous B’tempted undies set & Make up from Barry M advent, an MOT Kwick fit advent, a Nerf gun & accessories from The Entertainer, a tool bag, lots of dvd’s, books, I’m going to try even harder this year to win something big. Thanks for all your inspiration & tips. Have a Happy & Lucky New Year xxx

  • Susan Kempson

My favourite win of the year has to be my Cornish holiday, with Coast magazine & Cornish Horizons Holiday Cottages! We had to take the holiday in October half term but that didn’t matter at all, I love Cornwall at any time of the year! The property slept four with both bedrooms ensuite and facing the Atlantic, also included was surfing lessons for 4, A meal for 4 at the local bistro and entrance tickets to Trebah Gardens, a prize worth around £800 plus I won an afternoon tea voucher on Facebook from Burleigh Pottery, they said I could choose from a choice of places, one of which was the Eden Project, so I picked there, you got entrance included, saving me nearly £50! We took our best mates with us, they were amazed, my friend Janet couldn’t get over not paying for anything and how the owner of the property met us with a bottle of Prosecco & chocs and had stocked the fridge for us too! I had lots of little wins too, toys, food stuffs, books, Versace Eros perfume & aftershave, chocs, beauty hampers & a lovely hamper from Glen Moray whisky! Love this hobby and hopefully with my lucky secrets book, I will have an even better year, good luck everyone, and Happy New Year!

So I have added up my wins for this year and my first year comping (I think I started around March) and it comes to approximately £2650! These have not been full of material things but have included lots of family days out too. The best kind are the ones that make memories!

My first prize was a Joseph and Joseph mix up your menu chopping board, birds eye send in your tip competition. I was pleased as at that time I entered everything I could find with very little success. In the same week, I wrote a rhyming tie breaker on a local fashion boutiques Facebook page and won a huge Easter egg from Thorntons on my 30th birthday. Since then my two have had lots of books, magazine subscriptions, Swingball sets and board games. One of the board games coming from ET Speaks from Home rafflecopter competition from the linkys on here! Even though they were not big wins they definitely kept me going! I also had a YoSushi win of a Sushi making kit! (Yum) and a £75 clothing voucher for my husband. For guessing GOLDEN GIRL would win a horse race on a shopping centre website, I won 4 Chester races passes. Which was a lovely day out and some other Lucky Learners were there too! I also made a little mini break out of some family theatre tickets that I won on NetMums by e-mailing a photo and also won a camping holiday with White Stuff.

Toytopia tickets were on my wish list after the children spotted in the primary times magazine. I used Di’s google search tips and entered as many as I could. The one I did win, was the one with only 2 entrants. We had to share your children’s favourite books. I included a photo in my entrant. Consequently we had a fun packed day out and my little boy bagged himself some free Doctor Who goodies in a question and answer session at one of the showings! Proud Mum moment! Even better news came in November, when the kids Munch Bunch Selfie Competition won them an Ipad Mini! It arrived on Christmas Eve. They are delighted! Consequently did really well at Christmas. In December I also discovered I had won another shopping centre competition. It was a tie breaker that I entered at the beginning of November to WIN CHRISTMAS DAY. I had to write what it would mean to us, I used a classic rhyme but meant every word! Due to having no car due to the floods we hired a car for a few days and drove to Stockport to collect our goodies including a Pandora bracelet, and Turkey with all the M&S trimmings. The prize was worth at least £300. We also used the car to go to a Christmas Panto in Bolton we won from netmums. So worth the expense! Even better we met all the celebs that were staring in the panto at the end! Again another one from my wishlist that I was trying to win. There has been another prize this month that has also blown me away as it is my biggest win yet! £1000 Cheque from Heart Radio! My second winning telephone call. I am aware this is a Bauer media competition and I will now have a 6 month ban on competitions like this but after a tricky year and not a great December initially comping has made it memorable and special and we have had lots of fun entering the competitions we haven’t won too! VimTOAD, Emmi Latte, Lottery Twitter parties! THANK YOU! I wish everyone a happy, healthy lucky and successful 2016 xxxx

  • Linda Ford

I only started comping in September and haven’t won much but I’ve entered the competition. Fingers crossed xx

  • Congrats on all the successes and wins this year. I’ve entered heaps of competitions but only won twice. A £25 John Lewes voucher on twitter with Britmums and a £25 Urban Outfits voucher which never actually turned up! Annoyingly I chased it via the text I’d had announcing it but I then cleared out all my old text so couldn’t chase again. Hey ho. Easy come, easy go. I’m probably a bit over the hill for Urban outfitters anyway! My daughter has entered lots of drawing comps as she loves to draw, and won a toy penguin in Jan and a cream tea at the Pavillion (for 1 person only so ended up costing me a few quid to get her but still fun). X

  • Sue Costello

First of all well done to you and its nice to see that it can be done. Since I have been doing competitions on twitter, I started in October, I have won 4 boxes of Skinny Metcalfes popcorn for the office, 2 tickets for the Christmas fair in the City of London, a baking class and their new recipe book with Konditor and Cook from Mumsnet, a family ticket to the Pantomime at Hoxton Hall with Everything Theatre. £100 voucher for golf travel with Gaucho Restaurants and tickets to see the Burt Bacharach musical with London West End. £25 voucher with the Co-Op food stores. 2 signed wine books by Oz Clarke and a lovely Christmas Advent Calendar/stocking with Jane Plum Interiors and 2 boxes of biscuits from Mcvities by Nisa Locally, Phew only when I write them down do I see just how much I have won.

  • rebecca beesley

Brilliant stuff Di! We have LOVED watching your unboxing videos this year. This has been my lowest value year in terms of prize wins as haven’t spent too many hours comping as in previous few years but did win one of my wishlist prizes! thank you for all the inspiration and all the best for 2016!!! x

  • Amy McLellan

Well done on all your wins, Di! I’ve really enjoyed discovering your blog and YouTube this year, so best of luck for 2016!

I’ve never thought of creating a spreadsheet to tally up my wins before but I’m definitely doing it next year. Here’s hoping it keeps me motivated.

    Good luck!

  • Natalie Crossan

Great stuff as always 🙂 I’ve had a good year for prizes – although nothing as grand as the Las Vegas trip last year. I’ve won 670 competitions in total this year… My favourite wins from the year have been the Meccano Robot (who is still not built!), £300 of Christmas goodies (mainly all gone to Bridie!), Joules Coats for the whole family (5 in total – all around £200 each), Hive Heating System, Doc McStuffins Vet Centre with tonnes of Doc McStuffins toys, £250 Virgin Experience Voucher, £250 Lipsy Voucher, a £400 Garden Furniture Set, £300 Fragrance Hamper, £300 Sofa, £150 John Lewis Vouchers, Tiffany Necklace, Personalised Silver Spoon (With Bridie’s initials), Samsung Galaxy Note 4 worth almost £600.. There have been loads of beauty prizes too (MAC lipsticks are always a favourite) – I’ve won about 10 of those this year as well as being able to basically stock my Mum up on beauty products for the next 10 years lol.. Today we won an outdoor trampoline for Bridie, as part of Mothercare’s 12 days of Christmas.. She’s very excited about it and it gives me a reason to sort the garden out 🙂 I’m looking forward to comping in 2016.. It’s been so good to me this year, I’m hoping it continues 🙂 xx

  • Brilliant selection of prizes Natalie, and so nice to treat the family too! Wishing you lots of luck for 2016 – but topping 670 prizes will be tough!!

  • I love my spreadsheet – it’s so easy to forget about what you’ve won, and really good to look back on at the end of the year to remind yourself of all the small wins as well as the biggies!

  • Glad to hear you like the unboxing videos! I’m looking into making them a bit more fancy, including my winning entries too – let’s see how that goes! Wishing you luck for 2016!

  • BRILLIANT wins – and all in the last few months, that’s great!

  • Thanks Clare! You’ve been a great positive influence this year on Facebook and it’s been lovely to see you picking up some fab prizes, especially in your local comps! Have a great 2016!

  • Sorry to hear about the missing voucher – I can probably track that one down for you if you can remember the promoter! (I always shop at Urban Outfitters, ha ha!) – I’ll make sure to tweet the kids competition round ups to you when I do them to ensure your daughter can do a few more drawing comps too.

  • Good luck Linda!

  • Fabulous photos Jo – thank you so much for sharing, and I’ll include them in my round ups next year! Wishing you lots of luck for 2016!

  • The holiday sounds great Susan! I won a Welsh cottage holiday for October half term – I don’t mind it being at that time of year because the cottages are always so cosy. We always stay in and do jigsaws and play games! Hope you have a great 2016!

  • Nice to hear you had a few advent wins Louise – I ran out of time to do them in the end! Have a lucky 2016!

  • We won a Trunki seatbelt strap and Ryland loves it! Hope you get your 2016 getaway Ayse!

  • I’m after a cooker too! You’ll have to let me know if you see one up for grabs, ha! Have a great 2016!

  • …and you only started last month? What a fantastic start Michaela! I’m sure you’ll have a lucky 2016!

  • sonseyface

haha will do Di xx You too! xx

  • gilleniffer

Your wins are so inspiring, Di and I love your comping enthusiasm. You so deserve your wins, with all the effort you put into entries.
Did you realise when we click on the video of the football video of Ryland we actually get to see a whole host of other videos too? I actually loved watching them all, especially the one of Ryland when younger, helping you make a Jubilee tart. Great stuff!

  • nicola

Hi Di, How’re you doing? I kind of just stumbled on your blog last week after I recently won a few competitions (a watch, a food mixer, £250 vouchers) in a short space of time (like a few days?!) and then I realised that I’d actually won quite a few things this year, just randomly without consciously trying to seriously win anything. Friends and family always call me lucky as I’ve won things over the years and I’ve never really thought about it but also when I was younger I actually used to enter loads of competitions on the TV, phone-ins, like kids channels and stuff and I was forever winning things. My favourite was a Disney Channel competition where I had to draw a new Disney superhero -I was meant to win a Disney channel jacket and loads of other goodies, but it never ever arrived, annoyingly.
I struggle with time and running my own business so never thought about doing it regularly again but your wee blog has inspired me to do it as efficiently as possible this year -looking forward to getting through all of your tips and purchasing your book!

  • It sounds like you have the experience to know that comping is a worthwhile hobby Richy – so even with limited time if you see a comp you’re interested in, you can squeeze it in! If time is limited, stick to local comps and fun/creative comps rather than rattling through the comps listed on Loquax/Prizefinder/MSE though – the win rate from those is pretty low! Hope you have a great 2016!

  • Love the wish box idea Nicola! I’d like to win Shard tickets (or a meal at Aqua Shard) this year too. I used a prize Red Letter Day voucher to take friends to the Shard in 2015 but would like to take my hubby there too!

  • Some of the earlier Ryland videos are so funny aren’t they? I imagine when he gets older he’ll demand I take them down though! Good luck for 2016 Gill!

  • cherylp59

I won £250 John Lewis vouchers by writing a poem about our holiday hell a few years ago (it could be holiday heaven or hell but I figured less people would go for the holiday hell option) – http://madhousefamilyreviews.blogspot.co.uk/2015/07/wish-you-werent-here-holiday-heaven-or-hell.html

  • Lisette Davidson

Happy New Year, Di!! How are you? I am really enjoying all of your blogging, and you are doing really well – it gives me hope that I can do much better at winning this year, because you have done fabulously with not even trying too hard – still really enjoying all your prize unboxing vids – since I have finished work, I have been devoting myself to comping full time and now I am teaming up with my husband who takes some brilliant photos and knows how to crop them too!!

  • carolinedavison

2015 was a good year for me! Oslo(Take a break), Majorca (Love it Magazine) and The Bahamas (Metro Radio), £100 fuel voucher, £30 Poundland vouchers, 10,000 nectar points, Sony Camera, Bose Speaker, Hunter wellies, Now tv, Telegraph valentines comp – mattress, aromatherapy set, Bracelet, cashmere £250 credit, his and her watches, balloon ride and tunic, .travel guide to Hong Kong, eye cream, perfume, and shower gel

  • karen hutchinson

Happy new year – not a great year for me – around £1000 in prizes – a day at ragdale , Norfolk cottage break and a Swarovski hamper were my main wins- love reading about your wins , proves people actually do win . Love your facebook competition winners page too – good luck for 2016 everyone xx

  • Sandra Clarke

Thank you for sharing your wins, I intend to start a proper spreadsheet this year, although I do keep a record of wins. Since I finished work 2yrs ago my wins have increased & it really is a worthwhile hobby. Some of my wins this year – Joseph Joseph Goodies, 3 x Sodastreams, Michelin tyres, £500 BHS, £400 Debenhams, £100 Tesco, £150 Fuel, £100 Clarks Shoes, £130 M&S,£100 Dunelm vouchers & £3000 central heating boiler to end the year on a high. Happy New Year.

  • Excellent prizes Sandra – congrats! Good luck for 2016 too!

  • I love Ragdale – nothing quite like a spa day, I love to relax, switch off the gadgets and dream about my next holiday win ha ha! Good luck for 2016 Karen!

  • A great selection there Caroline – I’d love to go to Oslo!

  • Now that’s brilliant having a photographer at hand! I have to rely a lot on my tripod and self timer these days as Rob works long hours in London. Hope you have a great 2016 Lisette!

  • I really enjoyed reading that Cheryl – an original and worthy winner, even if the holiday sounds horrific!!

  • carolinedavison

If you do go prepare for the unpredictable weather and it is VERY expensive! Nice city though!

  • Lisette Davidson

thanks Di, he is brilliant, I have to say, although my daughter does have a brilliant tripod, which I have used in the past, her being an art student, but her camera is now broken – she used to be able to help me out taking short videos, I wonder what would be a good camera that could take vids? I have been thinking about trying out some video comps – these seem to always have low entries, don’t they? xx

  • cherylp59

Thanks Di – the worst thing is, it’s all true ! Winning the prize made me feel a bit better about the holiday though ! 🙂

  • I’ve had a pretty good year comping. My best win was a Drift camera bundle with loads of extra equipment from Wex Photographic through a facebook competition they ran. The whole bundle came with 2 cameras and absolutely everything you could ever need for mounting the cameras in various situations. 2015 also included my first Wamo win (a Fossil Wallet) and my first Instagram win (USC Meanswear were giving away Soviet clothing) so that cheered me up a lot. I won a lovely Fortnum & Mason Hamper from Swindale Parks and I’ve got a hotel stay to look forward to in Scotland thanks to Late Rooms Freebie Friday.

  • Andrew Knight

I didn’t start comping until late November but had a couple of wins. £150 scholl bomber jacket , minions dvd , runner up rubber duck which my granddaughter loves to bits and a pair of wychwood gloves. this year it’s going to get better and luckier fingers crossed and I’m already saving to get your book.

  • brisbane_billy

I started comping late 2014 but spend 1 hour per week entering various competitions and won the following worth a total of around £600

2 tickets to chelsea v manchester united £170
    2 tickets to QPR v Newcastle £100
2 tickets to ping pong at ally pally £20
    1 packet of sweets £2
    3 books £75
    2 x tickets for a cricket talk £20
    6 bottles of champagne £120
    Rab mountain bag £90

Looking forward to a exciting 2016 as I feel a major competition win is going to happen 🙂

Good luck to everyone for this year but please avoid mobile phone competitions as I really need a new one 🙂

  • Sarah S

I’ve had some fantastic wins this year, the best being a cheque for £1000 won in a competition that I knew would be low entry because you had to hold an investment with a particular company to enter so that really limited the entrant numbers.

Very few wins have been in creative or effort comps though. I do remember dashing into Tesco to take a Lanson champagne selfie to try & win a wimbledon beach towel. It was raining, I looked a right state and I had to ask a member of staff if he wouldn’t mind stopping restocking the shelves and moving out the way while I took a pic. He stood and watched me with his hands on his hips wearing a perplexed look. I then had to ask him to move again because the first pic was blurred! I did win a towel though and it arrived the day before I jetted off on holiday so I think it was meant to be!

  • Cassandra Mayers

I usually write mine in a little win book I have 😀 I started comping in April after winning one competition i saw where i posted a pic of my daughter doing Easter art, since then hooked and had a amazing rest of the year winning 305 competitions worth about £6300

    Some of my Best/Favourites include
I won £200 worth of Beer (6 crates) during the Week leading up to fathers day 😀 It was a photograph of my dad holding my daughter that won it… quite low entry to say that all you had to do was post a pic of your dad…

I won a £150 Car Seat Bundle , which had car seat for 2 years plus and accsessories, perfect for my daughter when she is older, that was for submitting a Vote and showing a screenshot of your vote.

My most expencive prize I gave away to my mum for her birthday 😀 a Hotel stay and meal in a Posh restaurant, worked out that would of costed about £260

I won recently a £150 Topshop Voucher, and Topshop is one of my favourite stores 😀

And my favourites was A in the night garden activity table and a in the night garden book bundle, toy bundle and magazine subscription that i won for my daughter, she is a HUGE fan and so was so nice to win them for her 🙂

Won lots of little prizes that add it up to the 305 wins, like bits of makeup and food and smellies, which are all good to keep me going and great as gifts for people 😀

I Love Comping and cant wait to see what 2016 bring me 😀 (so far over £200 worth of prizes :D)

Thanks for the chance and look forward to carrying on reading your wins x

Always a pleasure reading your wins, Di, another successful, fun year for you. Like yourself, my new career, as great as it is means I’ve reduced my comping ‘earnings’, coupled with bereavement left my efforts a bit poorer so after having my best year of £13k the previous year, down to £3k this year. But having said that I had some very pleasurable wins that I worked hard to get that meant the kids got an Xbox and lots of other goodies for Christmas and an adventure holiday in Devon. Looking back (at my spreadsheet of course) most wins were days out or presents to put away so really what I was aiming for. I still haven’t cracked winning another foreign family holiday, now 6 years since I’ve been on a plane. I’m stubbornly refusing to use the Karabars suitcase I won last January until I’m flying off somewhere! Spent the weekend on creative holiday comping so fingers crossed it comes off soon. That’s top of my list followed by some goodies for the home this year. Good luck with your goals, Di x

  • patricia bond

I love reading about other peoples wins and always watch your video Di, it keeps me going. Had quite a good year with about 44 prizes in all. One of my best wins was £500 worth of Sainsburys Vouchers from Delia Smith’s site and I also won £100 to spend on the Aga Foodhall Site and a lovely Die-cutting machine worth £100 from Docrafts, one of my rare facebook wins which I nearly missed, it was only after reading your book (a win of course!) that I did a social search and found it in the nick of time, so thank you for that. I also had lots of lovely small wins, books, DVD’s vouchers and a hamper among others. I did try a few Pinterest ones just before Christmas but with no luck so far, I am never really sure how many pins to send really but I will keep trying. It took me a while but with step by step instructions from your book and a bit of trial and error I did manage to submit some entries so you never know one day!!! It’s an amazing hobby and although time consuming at times I love it. Good luck to everyone for 2016

  • Beth

I only started comping seriously in the past few weeks, mainly after I managed to win a couple of competitions last year without trying. I was lucky enough to win the trainline’s competition for £2000 worth of train travel for a year – we’ve been to Edinburgh first class, Manchester, Brighton, London, Bath…it was such a great prize to win especially as it gave me so much choice! I also won an Olay bundle worth about £70 – a few of those bits went for Christmas presents which I was happy with as they’re expensive products normally! I’ve had a couple of wins so far already so I’m really glad I decided to give it a go! Your website has been helping me loads as well, so thank you!

I’m a relative newby too – I only started comping in December, but so far have picked up a driving experience from the Evening Standard, premiere tickets to the Peter Mullan film, Hector, as well as the premiere of a surfing film (which I couldn’t make, so gave to a surf charity).

It’s been roughly a prize a week on Twitter since then, with winnings including a box of chilled smoothies arriving from Moju Drinks, a tour of a gin distillery for two in the bag, a signed pasta cooking book by Anna Del Conte, a Jelly Bean car air freshener, a 2016 calendar and a Sinister 2 T shirt.

The best prize thus far this year has been a personal training session with We Are Fit Attitude, a local comp with just a handful of entries. I avoid the comps for chocolate!

  • You’ve made a great start Jason – well done!!

  • wow, that train travel prize sounds fabulous – congrats!

Thanks, Di! I love gameshows (started off on Weakest Link in 07) but that’s taking a back seat for a little while, so Twitter comps are the way forward.

  • Brilliant prizes Cassandra – thanks for sharing your list!

  • Ha ha! I love the puzzled faces I’ve encountered with staff in shops and restaurants – I usually ask them to help me out by taking the photo!

  • Thanks for sharing your wins Billy – looks like you’re focusing on sporty & outdoor comps which is great as they usually get fewer entries! Good luck winning your phone!

  • Good luck for 2016 Andrew!

  • Some great wins there Karl – good luck for 2016!

  • Hi Jo! Just to let you know – I’ve featured your Horrid Henrys in this week’s winners post! http://superlucky.me/2016/03/weekend-winners-5/ – thanks for sharing your stories! x
