Click to Win Competitions

Do you enter Click to Win competitions?

Click to Wins (or Click2Wins) are probably one of the simplest (and most boring!) prize draws you’ll find in the UK – all you need to do is enter your email address, and usually complete a captcha, survey or view an advert. You can enter the same prize draw every day – and often it will appear across multiple websites, so you can enter on all those too.

Bauer Media run the majority of the ‘Click To Win’ competition sites here in the UK – the sites that start with winit. or clickswin. – and their main site is winsomething.co.uk. At the end of this post is a list of more than a hundred Bauer Click to Win sites if you fancy trying your luck!

How many websites is the prize draw featured on?

When you find a draw you’re interested in on a Bauer site, click to see Official Rules – this will list the other sites that prize is offered on. Prizes with wide appeal like holidays or iPads are listed on dozens of websites, whereas niche prizes such as golf equipment or football boots may only be listed on one or two.

For example, a current prize of a £500 holiday voucher appears on a whopping 96 different Bauer websites, and closes in 16 days time – if you did the maximum entries (one entry per day on each site) that would mean you had 16 x 96 = 1,536 entries in the draw. Wow!

Yes, that example might be rather extreme – but you can appreciate how the format works, and how the website benefits, with entrants returning daily and earning them ad revenue!

How are winners contacted?

Emails come from various addresses, often including @winsomething.co.uk or @bauermedia.co.uk within 14 days of the draw. Winners only have five days to claim the prize!

Are winners names published?

You can view winners of previous Click to Win comps on the relevant website (click Winners Circle), and they can sometimes give you an idea how easy it is to win on certain sites. For example, looking at current Match Magazine winners, I can see some names appearing three times – suggesting that perhaps these comps don’t get as many entries as a popular mag like Take A Break.

Can you win multiple big prizes?

Bauer Media also own radio stations and TV channels, and their terms and conditions cover competitions across all these:

“There is no limit on the value of a single prize that may be provided to the individual winners of a Competition. However, no person or persons at the same residential address may win more than one prize valued at £500 or more via any of our Competitions in any six (6) month period.”

So if you’re lucky enough to bag a biggie – either on air, or in a Click-to-win, you might not want to risk entering Bauer comps for 6 months – just in case they check up on you!

Are Click to Wins worth the effort?

I asked SuperLucky readers if they’ve had much success with Click to Wins. Most agree that they find them boring – but have been successful if they focus their attention on just a few of the websites or prizes. And most don’t bother with the ones listed on more than ten sites!

These prize draws are quick and easy to do on a mobile phone, but if your comping time is limited, I don’t think Click To Wins are a sensible use of your time! You’ll have more success finding and entering effort, purchase-necessary and local comps (see my post How to find low entry competitions for tips).

Click to Win Tips

  • Focus on a few smaller prizes at a time , entering daily to maximise your chances
  • Enter the draws that only feature on one or two specialist websites (cars, horse, sport magazines etc) – but only if the prizes will be useful to you!
  • Enter prize draws where there are multiple winners or local event tickets to be won
  • Save links to your favourite prizes into a new ‘C2W’ bookmarks folder in your web browser and then daily, right-click (ctrl-click) the folder name and ‘open all links’ to save time entering them.
  • Search your email inbox/junk/spam folders at least once a week for ‘Congratulations’ or ‘Winner’ just incase you’ve missed a winning email – you could even set a ‘rule’ in your mail client to flag up any sender containing radiowinit@, @winsomething.co.uk or @bauermedia.co.uk

I’ve been doing them for just over a year, using about 20-25 of the sites, and had a fair few wins. They are very boring, I usually do them with a laptop on my lap while watching TV at the same time.
Not had any success with any of the prizes I particularly targeted, but won some where I’m sure I only had a few entries.

  • I only ever enter them through Take A Break and only ever once a week when I’m entering their weekly puzzle comps in the magazine. I’ve won twice with them but nothing huge, Food Show tickets once and a baby bath bundle the other

I’ve won a number of click to win competitions – but wins aren’t frequent and its a lot of work if you do more than a handful of sites. I’ve now handed that job over to my husband, he has had one small win in three months and is entering over about 40 sites (don’t know how he has the patience – I only used to do about a dozen sites myself).

Thanks for all your work on this Di. I am with you on entering these – hard work for very little result. I did not realise how many sites had links for each prize. I rarely do them. I wonder what the odds are of winning a decent prize?

Had been doing them for a couple of months but have decided its too much time and effort which i’d rather put into looking for and doing creative and low entry comps

Are these the type of competitions that bar you from winning from 6 months since your last win?
