ITV’s The Spin-Off App: How to play and win for FREE

You probably already know about ITV’s huge premium-rate competitions (and how to enter them by post, if you still enjoy sending off postcards). But did you know about their FREE The Spin-Off mobile app where you can win cash and holidays just by playing a quick daily quiz? 27 winners get a share of £500 cash every single day, and if you take part in their regular LIVE quizzes, you could be walking away with a share of £10,000!

What is The Spin-Off app?

The Spin-Off is an interactive, free-to-play app available on iOS and Android – find the links to download at www.itv.com/thespinoff. It’s a skill-based trivia game where you answer questions against the clock. There are two ways to play and win: Daily Games and Live Games.

Daily Game: Win a share of £500

You can play the Daily Game once a day. You will be asked 6 trivia questions and have 15-seconds to answer each one – you spin the wheel and will be randomly assigned a topic and a format. Participants do not all get exactly the same six questions and you do not need to get all 6 correct – answering just 1 question correct gives you a chance to win the daily cash prizes!

When playing the game, tap the red arrow in the bottom corner of the screen to skip the wheel spins and the chat and go straight to the questions.

Question format:

• Order: Place three items into the correct order by tapping and dragging the answer options
• Picture: You’ll be shown an image and must identify who, what, or where it is from 3 multiple-choice options.
• Squares: You will be given a 6-square grid and have to select the two correct answers
• Middler: You’ll be given two answers, and you have to pick the option (out of 4) that fits between the other two – this is the trickiest format!
• Odd One Out: Select the odd one out from 3 possible answers (read the question carefully as it’s usually the wrong answer that’s the odd one out)
• Mind The Gap: You’re given the first and last letters of a word, and have to pick the missing middle letters from 3 choices – this is usually simple, if your spelling is good!

Scoring points

At the end of the game you’ll see how many points you earned, and can tap to Claim rewards. Each point gives you a token and at the end of every day, all tokens are entered into a random draw. The more tokens you have, the more entries you have in the daily draw.

• Correct answer: 10 points
  • Correct answer in less than 3 seconds: bonus 3 points
  • Correct answer in less than 6 seconds: bonus 2 points
  • Correct answer in less than 10 seconds: bonus 1 point
• Consecutive correct answers:
  • 3 correct: bonus 5 points
  • 4 correct in a row: bonus 10 points
  • 5 correct in a row: bonus 20 points
  • 6 correct in a row: bonus 50 points

Daily prize draw

Winning players are drawn randomly every day to share a prize pot of £500, and the 27 prize winners are announced daily on the app:

• 1 × £100
• 2 × £50
• 4 × £25
• 20 × £10

ITV Show-Themed Prizes

During your Daily Game, you will occasionally see a question marked with an official ITV show logo (like This Morning or Love Island) to win a bonus prize!

If you answer that specific question correctly, you are entered into a separate prize draw for a TV-themed experience. These are drawn at the end of March 2026 and include:

• I’m A Celebrity: A trip to Australia with flights, 7 nights in a 4* hotel, £500 spending money, and a set visit
• This Morning: A luxury London weekend in a 5* hotel, a cast meet & greet, and a £1,000 shopping trip with a show stylist
• Love Island: Flights to Mallorca, 7 nights in a 4* hotel, £500 spending money, and 2 tickets to the Summer 2026 finale
• Other prizes: A VIP day at the races with ITV Sport, trip to Las Vegas with Hell’s Kitchen, and exclusive set tours of Coronation Street and Emmerdale with £1,000 spending money

Power-Ups

Power-Ups can only be used in the daily game. They are awarded randomly and earned by answering questions successfully, and by referring friends to the app. 

• Streak Saver (Common) – protects your daily Streak if you miss a day; applies automatically 
• Freeze Timer (Mid) – pauses the countdown for +3 seconds; usable after reveal and before the timer begins.
• Double Up (Mid) – doubles leaderboard points for one question if answered correctly; usable after reveal and before the timer begins.
• Spin Swap (Rare) – re‑spin for a new question type; usable after reveal and before the timer begins. 
• Solve For Me (Rare) – reveals the correct answer immediately; usable after reveal and before the timer begins.

Streaks

Playing the daily game for consecutive days will increase your tokens as follows:

• Days 2-3: 1.05x
• Days 4-6: 1.10×
• Days 7-13: 1.15×
• Days 14-29: 1.20×
• Day 30+: 1.25×
• Day 60+: 1.50×

Miss a day, and your Streak ends and the multiplier resets the next day (unless you have a streak saver, which will be used automatically)

The Spin-Off Live

The app also hosts occasional live quizzes, which are lots of fun – everyone is given the same 12 questions for these, and if you get them all correct you win a share of £10,000. I played a live quiz for the first time recently, and was one of 103 players to make it to the end, winning £96.15! 

Unfortunately there can be issues getting online for the quiz,so I recommend you log in at least 10 minutes before the quiz begins, and make sure your app is updated! I also suggest activating push notifications in the Spin-Off settings – then if you have trouble logging on, go to your live quiz notification and tap that instead. If you miss the start you can’t win a cash prize, but can still play for the bonus ITV show themed-prize.

• You will be asked 12 knowledge-based questions with 15 seconds to answer each one.
• Answer wrong, and you are eliminated from the cash pool (though you can keep playing for the ITV show-themed prizes).
• If you answer all 12 correctly, you win an equal share of that game’s cash prize pool. If nobody gets all 12 right, the pot is split among the players with the most correct answers

How are winners paid?

All winners will receive an email from Prizeshark with a link to claim, and a unique code to enter on the claim form. Go to the link and upload a photo of your ID to verify your age, and give a PayPal account (if you don’t use PayPal, you can contact the team for alternatives).

Spin-Off Tips

• Set a reminder to play every day to build a streak, and multiply your draw entries
• Check your correct and incorrect answers at the end, as similar questions may crop up again
• Make an educated guess: For some questions, you may not know the correct answers (especially if you don’t watch ITV soap operas, The Voice or Love Island!) – but you may be able to identify answers that are definitely wrong, then deduce the correct answers
• Refer friends to earn extra in-game Power-Ups – on the app home screen, scroll down to find your referral link
• Accuracy is more valuable than speed: although you get bonus points for answering quickly, . getting all 6 questions correct gives you a 50 point bonus. 
• Have a second device nearby – if you’re a fast typer, 15 seconds may be enough time to check the answer using Google or AI!
• Play with friends or family – for the daily game, play one after the other as you may get a duplicate question. For the live quiz, play together either in a room or via video call – if someone is 100% sure of an answer and shouts it out you will all benefit!
