Meet The Compers: Gyongyi Duchaj
For the final Meet The Compers Q&A of 2025, I’m excited to introduce the first ever SuperLucky employee – Gyongyi Duchaj!
Gyongyi joined the Lucky Learners Facebook group a few years ago and even though she was a brand new comper, I was immediately struck by the accuracy and attention to detail in her posts, plus her enthusiasm for finding new purchase necessary promotions. I brought Gyongyi on board as a Facebook admin and when I launched Lucky Legends membership I knew she would be the perfect choice for Community Manager!

Tell us about how you started comping, Gyongyi!
I think it was 2022. I was searching on Google and one of the results that came up was the SuperLucky blog, all about comping. I remember reading it and being so curious about how it works – then I clicked on the link to join Lucky Learners on Facebook to find out more!
What was the first prize you won?
It was a Tesco text to win competition where you had to buy Frank’s Hot Sauce and there was a daily winner of £250 cash. It’s no wonder it got me hooked!
You have a 4 year old and a 12 year old: are either of them compers?
My oldest is not interested in comping, sadly. However, my little one has already taken part in some creative competitions, particularly colouring and cooking. I hope that as she gets older, she will continue to enjoy the process!
Which winning competition entry are you most proud of?
My first judged entry win was with BirdsEye and I won £1000 worth of Waterstones vouchers – we created the word BOOKWORM from Alphabites!

What does your partner think of your hobby (and job!)
He thinks I’m obsessive about comping, especially now that I do this for work too! He has accepted the endless compers shopping list and the receipts and packages around the house that can only be touched by me! At the end of the day we enjoy the prizes together so he doesn’t mind making a little effort if I ask him.
How much time do you dedicate to comping each day?
I would say it’s an hour a day which includes planning what to enter and then entering the comps.
What was it like when you met compers for the first time at the Lucky 10 Party?
It was truly fantastic to meet up with everyone from the community in person in Glasgow – and this was the first time meeting Di, having only done our weekly video calls before then. Despite many of the party guests never having met before, it was like we had all known each other for a long time. We had so much fun with all the games and activities planned for the night that it was genuinely hard to say goodbye.

How do you organise your purchase necessary competition entries?
I always take a photo of my receipt as soon as possible and file them by store when I get home. If I need to keep the packaging I just put those in a bag without sorting.
Tell us about your money can’t buy trip to meet Mr Beast!
It was a competition with Feastables chocolates and you had to buy a chocolate bar and upload your receipt photo to enter, and I posted this on the Lucky Legends forum. I bought 5 bars throughout the promotion period. Just a few days after the closing date, I received an email confirming that I was one of the lucky winners – a fellow Legend also won the same prize!

The whole trip was like a dream from start to finish. It was only a 2-night trip, so everything happened very fast – we flew from Scotland to the USA where there were other winners from all over Europe. Highlights included visiting the exclusive Beast Arena, where we took part in challenges inspired by the Beast Games, and touring their huge office. We even saw behind the scenes of the filming sets and spoke to crew members while shooting was in progress! We were also gifted a huge amount of Feastables goodies to take home—so much stuff, in fact, that they had to buy an extra suitcase for every winner! On the last day, we finally met Jimmy (Mr. Beast) himself. We had a great chat with him and a photo opportunity. It was an unforgettable moment for my son, who is a massive fan, and a memory he will cherish forever.

You’re brilliant at finding new competitions for the Lucky Legends forum – what tips can you share?
My best advice is to master Google searches, Di has brilliant guides on this so I recommend people check those out! (members can re-watch the special Legends Live broadcast about finding new comps online) And to dedicate some time each week just for searching.
If you could win a comp to meet someone famous who would it be?
I would love to meet up and have a chat with P!nk. She is such an icon and I love her music.
What’s your dream competition prize?
A car is on my Ultimate Wish list.
Do you have any lucky charms?
I don’t have any physical things, but I do believe in manifesting and my motto is “If you can dream it, you can win it!”

What do you love most about comping?
It has opened a whole new world for me, I met so many amazing people including you Di. I’m super grateful for all the experiences that comping made possible!
And what frustrates you about comping?
I don’t like conflicts so probably the things that divide people in the community – promoters could easily fix those to clear things up.
Have you had any luck with radio competitions?
I’ve been entering for so long, but I haven’t been lucky until recently. In the past I was on Heart’s Wake up and Win quiz, but only got 9 correct out of 10 so didn’t win. However that seemed to have changed as I finally won on Absolute Radio, a 3-night trip to Helsinki which we are planning to take in January!
What’s your favourite prize, and why was it so special?
It’s always special where you have a feeling that you will win the prize. That was the case with the Mr Beast comp, I had a gut feeling and told my son that I’m going to win it! A very close second is our recent trip to London for the NFL UK games, it was a new experience and turned out to be a huge buzz!

What’s on your wishlist for 2026?
I always have big ambitions with my wishlist. I would definitely love to win a bigger cash prize (£3,000+) and some new experiences or trips away!
