Win £20,000 in The Sweetstake with Mars
Click here for details of the Win2Gether 2021 Mars promotion, which has replaced the Sweetstake!
The Sweetstake returns for 2020, with a top prize of £20,000! Buy a promotional pack of Mars chocolate, chewing gum or sweets and you’ll have the chance to win a cash prize of up to £20,000 – or millions of vouchers for free chocolates and sweets.
When the Sweetstake promotion first ran back in 2018, entrants were assigned a possible scenario that could happen during a real World Cup match, and if the scenario actually happened they would win a prize. Sadly, with Euro 2020 postponed until 2021 it means we have no live football this summer – but Mars have updated the format of their Sweetstake promotion so we can still play!

When you enter the unique code from your packaging at TheSweetstake.com you’ll be assigned a scenario that might happen at a football match, and a possible prize – then shown a short animated video – if your scenario occurs, then you’ll win a prize! You can then watch a second video for another chance to win.
As well as doubling the chances to win with each code entered, Mars have also pledged to match the prizes with donations to the National Emergencies Trust, who are supporting individuals and communities affected by the coronavirus outbreak. For every prize won in The Sweetstake, Mars will match the prize value in a donation to NET – and in total will be donating £500,000 to the charity.
In addition, although packs say codes must be entered by 11 July 2020, Mars have extended the date for the instant win promotion until 11 January 2021.
The Sweetstake prizes
When you enter your unique code, you’ll be shown two videos, and have two chances at an instant win prize. The prize pool for each of these videos is as follows:
- 10 x £20,000
- 125 x £1,000
- 250 x £500
- 10,000 x £20
- 30,000 x £5
- 3 million free packs of Mars, M&Ms, Minstrels, Maltesers, Revels, Twix, Ripple, Snickers, Starburst, Skittles or Wrigley’s Extra (awarded as a printable coupon worth up to £1)
Cash prizes will be paid by BACS transfer – currently they cannot be paid by cheque due to the coronavirus guidelines about non-essential trips.
How to enter
- Buy a promotional pack of Mars, Revels, M&Ms, Minstrels, Maltesers, Twix, Ripple, Snickers, Starburst, Skittles or Wrigley’s Extra.
- Go to thesweetstake.com, choose your location and enter your date of birth
- Find the unique ten digit code from inside your pack and enter this, along with your name and email address.
- Choose the store where you bought your pack (see below for details of the Tesco & One Stop exclusive £2020 prizes)
- You will be assigned a scenario and prize on screen, and then shown a video – if the scenario happens, you win!
- After watching, tap continue to watch another video for a second chance to win – it’s possible to win two prizes!
- You can only enter one code per day.

If you win a cash prize worth £500 or more you will need to post your packet off to claim the prize – if you win a £5 or £20 prize, you won’t need to do this and can go straight to a claim form to give your bank details.
If you win a free pack, you will be sent a link via email – click the link to print off your free pack coupon. After printing you will have 30 days to redeem the coupon – but because of coronavirus guidelines, the link in the email will remain active until 31 May 2021, so you can wait and print your coupon when the government restrictions are lifted.
How are winners chosen?
This is an instant win promotion, but unfortunately winners aren’t decided by winning moments so your chance of winning is the same regardless of the time of day you take part. In The Sweetstake, all prizes will only be won if every single unique code is entered – we can expect less than 5% of codes to be entered, so probably only one of the twenty £20,000 prizes will be claimed.
Tesco & One Stop Exclusive £2,020 draw
If you buy your promotional pack at Tesco or One Stop, you’ll be entered into an exclusive prize draw to win one of twenty guaranteed prizes of £2,020! Simply choose Tesco or One Stop on the entry screen drop down menu. Winners will be chosen at random after the closing date of 11 January 2021.
The Sweetstake is open to UK residents aged 18+ and there’s a no purchase necessary postal route for NI (see FAQs for details). The promotion ends on 11 January 2021.
The Sweetstake promotion is running for 9 months, and you don’t have a better chance of winning if you enter early – so please don’t make a special trip to the shops to find these packs! Be patient and wait until the coronavirus restrictions are relaxed.
Check out the FAQs here and if you have any problems entering, email sweetstake@responsehandlingteam.co.uk

I have bought several bags of both Revels and Minstrels all of which had promotional message but no pack has a secret code and I have taken great care to open the packs and searched inside with a magnifying glass. VERY DISAPPOINTED and feel cheated!
Hi Alfred, have you cut open and flattened the pack completely? The codes are printed on the back of a black strip (looks grey on the inside).

Dangerous to give your bank details over the net to anyone. This should not be encouraged. Scam comes to mind.
