It’s a bit too busy in terms of the dancing, but the melody is pretty catchy! Could imagine grooving to this on a Saturday night,

  2. james bruce says:

    cool video

  3. Natalie Crossan says:

In the words of Kath & Kim, noiiice, different, unusual!
Also reminded me a lot of PSY, but that must just be because they’re both Korean? Is this K-Pop or more rap?

  4. Jeanette Leighton says:

Korean people always are very stylish… The singing is good also would love to listen to the cd my children Sheriah 6 and Charlie 2 would probably love to dance to it too

  5. iqha101295 says:

i stanning BTS since their debut day and each songs they have messages to those who are litsening to them. for IDOL, i completely understand the message they give to us, Yes they are idol, and as and idol they need to fullfill what fans wanted(mostly to all Koreans idol). but IDOL is literally sent messages to us that, eventhought they living as an artist or idol, we as a fan doesnt have right to control them and make them as a doll. they want the fans to understand that they want to be more freely and respect them as a human being too. and ofc IDOL also mentioned about how the haters keep blaming their carrier as an idol and said BTS being westernized, which the IDOL song is mix of korean traditional and grawa grawa(African beat and culture). last but not least, they making #IDOLCHALLENGE to encourage fans to do the challenge, and we learn about the culture

  6. Sophie L Carter says:

I love how upbeat it is throughout the whole video. It was actually from you Di that I first heard about them with your tweets & retweet’s ☺️ #fangirl Fingers crossed to win

  7. Great song as always – I am going to break something learning that dance though!

  8. Rebecca says:

Wearing shirts with Snow White, and the cartoon Bugs Bunny?
I am new to this band, but they’re cool, bright and funny!

Great white sharks in their videos and a rabbit in the moon?
They have found another fan with this hip and funky tune.

These Korean boys are stylish, and they move in such a way
that I want to ditch my housework and just dance with them all day.

BTS has won me over with originality,
and I’d love to be the winner of their Love Yourself CD!

    • Di says:

I love this Rebecca – thankyou for such a creative entry! Good luck!
Ps. did you know those Snow White & Bugs Bunny jumpers are Gucci, and cost over £3000?!!!

      • Rebecca says:

Thanks for your kind words, Di! BTS’s style is so much fun–not to mention inspiring–that I couldn’t resist writing my own little ditty. I am shocked about the jumpers though. I guess I won’t be getting one of those for Xmas!

  9. Tiff Jordan says:

Fabulous flossing feels fun but BTS bring bouncy bright choreography from Kpop!

  10. Rachel S says:

Someone once told me you should never wear more than three colours at once – a ‘rule’ I have broken every day since , so I thought I was pretty colourful until I saw this what a style inspiration, I want them to pop round and give me a makeover if they’re not too busy on their world tour

  11. RainbowYaKnow says:

    Hi Di and Ry….

WOW!! My eyes and ears are now on a 10 second timer delay haha. Ive had to re watch that video several times over… Ya know, all in the name of research. But now I’m hooked!

I don’t think I’ve ever experienced such a mass colour explosion both musically and graphically. Artistically it’s taken me somewhere over the rainbow. I’m just gutted they stole my look. Lollllllllllllllll.

Yes of course I’d love to the swallowed up whole by BTS mucic scene. Maybe not in the bath with a shark about though. I’d be thrashing about way too many
With my BTS bollywood style dance moves.

Totally get now why the Korean music scene is so well acclaimed right now. Please let us in the ARMY.

    Hannah x

Keep winning those fab prizes you two, you are a great encouragement to us all.

  13. juliea says:

I loved all the colors, the outfits, the lyrics, everything about the video, its not like what they normally do, which im happy about, because it means they can adapt to change, and its so fun to watch bts be themselves, and not care. The song had meaning, to me, i loved the overall message it gives “love yourself, love myself”… Because of this song, i want to win one of these CDs so bad

  14. chiara says:

I loved the corography, the outfits, and the meaning behind the video…

  15. Lynn Brown says:

Since being introduced to them through your posts I have watched many of their videos. The videos are so colourful and the dances so energetic you just can’t fail to be uplifted by them. Would love to win the box set.

  16. Francesca Jones says:

I have an eclectic taste in music, big Muse fan here but love my classical and pop too. This is one of those groups where it makes me want to learn the dance moves, can’t wait to show my daughter who has started street dance classes, she’ll love it!
Very crazy and psychedelic… I was half expecting Jean Paul Gautier to appear aka Euro Trash days (loved that show).
I need to watch this on my PC so I can see the translation too!

  17. Savannah Sweetnam says:

Considering I’ve been a fan of BTS since before they debuted, when they could barely afford a vlogging camera and enough instant ramen to feed them all, it’s crazy to see how far they’ve come now with IDOL!! A singing shark, a twerking Jungkook, jin and RM getting to show off their smooth moves, jhope almost being attacked by a wind sock, jimin looking like a prince with his fan, yoongi kocking all of his haters to the ground and Tae- well, Tae just being his dorky self. I don’t think BTS have ever made a video that screams BTS more than this, they were all truly themselves and we got a viral dance challenge out of the whole thing to! I’m so proud to have watched them come all of this way and idol is by far their best release yet!

  18. Olivia says:

I’ve loved BTS for two years now and their songs just keep getting better and better. It’s so touching watching them grow and their music evolve. This music video shows just how far they’ve come and is possibly the catchiest song to ever exist. The mc is fun and bright and the guys look amazing. The choreography is the coolest thing ever as well

  19. sharon martin says:

My daughter is a huge fan of BTS and other Kpop bands, listens to nothing else in fact, having watched this video we found it colourful and fun to watch, dancing was FAB as usual. Great song and very different to their normal songs.

  20. yasmin says:

BTS is very creative with their style, IDOL is a whole bop just proving to the haters that they love their selves and they don’t care about others opinions and army’s should too as its the theme of their album acceptance. the whole video is a magical experience the choreography the lyrics and their meanings this era have been phenomenal. My 2 year anniversary with BTS is is OCT 9th the day of the London concert i can’t wait to see them in real life and their performance is going to be mind blowing.

  21. Annette slater says:

Completely love it! Wish id seen them sooner my boys love this video!

  22. Louise says:

Thanks for the introduction to BTS! More colourful and over-the-top than Ed Balls & Katya Jones doing the salsa to Gangnam Style on Strictly Come Dancing in 2016! Love it!

  23. Hayley pemberton says:

We do love BTS in our house. My 2 year old dances along. We have been trying to practice the moves but we look like like a bunch of jellyfish trying to dance. This video just shows they are getting better and better with each song.

    • Di says:

I’m half tempted to try the #IDOLCHALLENGE with Ryland – we have more enthusiasm than rhythm mind you!

  24. Fiona Ahmed says:

Hi Di and Ry I’m an ARMY who lives down by the sea in Bournemouth! I’ve been waiting for this comeback ever since the teaser dropped for Idol! And to be honest, it was completely different to what I was expecting from BTS. I thought it would be a traditional oriental theme because that was what the teaser showed, but wow I was a fool and we got a full on carnival song! Honestly I love how vibrant and outgoing crazy it is, something that BTS hasn’t done before in their previous music videos, showing that they can be unique too! And the lyrics are meaningful too, “What you babbling about? You can’t stop me loving myself!”, it’s really motivating for someone who has a low self esteem like myself. And the imagery of the tiger and the shark in the music video, BTS being a royal Bengal tiger – king of the jungle, whilst dancing unbothered in a diving cage, as a shark tries to attack and eat them, it’s a powerful imagery showing that you should be proud of yourself and ignore any negativity thrown at you. ‘Keep doing what you do on a daily basis and be yourself’, I’m glad that this message BTS are trying to get across is relatable to fans around the whole world!

All seven of them, RM, J-Hope, Yoongi, Taehyung, Jimin, Jin and Jungkook are giving it their all as usual with their powerful vocals too. They all have screen time, equal lines in the music video and look fabulous as ever too with the vibrant outfits!

Are you going to the BTS concert in London? I’m going on Wednesday 10th October, it’s my first ever concert and I’m so excited! 🙂
Hope you both have a wonderful day! Good luck to everyone else! 😀

    • Di says:

Thanks for the great comment Fiona! What I love about BTS is that they’re REALLY good at keeping secrets so everything is a surprise – you never know what to expect next! I have a standing ticket for the 9th October – it’s about my thousandth concert, but I can honestly say I don’t think I’ve ever looked forward to a gig as much as this one. It’s going to be amazing. URSOO!!!

  25. Jayne Thunder says:

Ive never seen anything like it. It was totally mesmerizing and so energetic. The colours, rapping, lyrics and moves just made me watch in awe for the whole video. Im now the latest (and probably oldest) BTS fan.

    • Di says:

I’m certain you’re not the oldest Jayne – there’s a whole crew of us on Twitter, lots of Grandmas too!!

  26. Krisha says:

Hey Ry! Im a fellow army too! The song is AMAZING! And i love the lyrics and the meaning behind them (im also trying to learn some korean to understand the lyrics ) and i would love to have tte answer album because i dont have any albums at all so Thank u for this oppurtunity!!

  27. Miffy says:

My daughter has been obsessed with BTS for ages and we managed to get tickets for their tour at the O2 . Great prize which would make my daughter’s day

  28. Dale Dow says:

I actually think it’s really good, found it quite enjoyable

  29. Emma Hunter says:

It’s a stonker…possibly not enough hip-hop for your taste Di, but I just love how crazy and young they are in the m/v …. a bunch of lads telling the world where to get off xx

  30. Kate says:

Ry!! I’m a fellow ARMY too! I love each and every one of BTS and I love all their songs, everything they do is amazing but I especially love their message for everyone to love themselves. I’ve never owned a physical copy but would be SO happy to reciceve one! (I would be JungSHOOK)

  31. Vicky Turbin says:

My D D loves it. It’s very…..colourful. I am seriously starting to feel old! She says its better with subtitles on though. Would love to win it for DD as she would be over the moon!

  32. Geri Gregg says:

I’ve never heard any Korean music before hearing this track, but I found it to be phenomenal! The tune in my opinion fits into the genre of a pop boy band, with an upbeat tune, and the music video is easy on the eyes with lots of colours and dancing 🙂 good luck everyone x

  33. stella noble says:

Mesmerizingly good Thank-you for the introduction
