My March Prizes

Welcome to our monthly Prize Unboxing and round up of wins – can you believe we’ve made a whole year’s worth of videos now!

A few people have asked how many comps I enter – it’s an average of about 15 a day, usually including one or two photo competitions. I don’t use listings websites (unless checking the photo comp category), but prefer to spend time searching for interesting low-entry competitions when I get a spare moment – then I save those links and enter the competitions nearer to the closing date. My win rate is about 1 in 50 at the moment, or a prize every 2-3 days. This week I focused my attention on Instagram to make a new YouTube guide and a top tips post – and as a result I won four prizes in four days (find out what they are next month!)

Prizes featured in the March unboxing:

• Champagne – won in a @JacquartUK Twitter competition to take a photo of a Jacquart taxi. If I’m heading into London, I always do a Twitter search for ‘spot taxi win’ a few days before, just in case – and that’s how I spotted this comp. I chased the taxi down the road on the way to a meeting for this photo!

• Walkers footballs, sharing bowls & t-shirts – won in the Game Ready instant win promotion, which is running until 25th April.
• Galaxy Tab & 12 months Spotify Premium – won in the Tesco ‘Give your home the X Factor’ purchase-necessary prize draw (also featured last month when I got the letter!).
• £100 Sainsbury’s voucher, Fish Tales book, apron & MSC goodies – won in a photo competition on the Marine Stewardship Council Facebook page. This weekly promotion is still running. Check for this week’s recipe on their Facebook page and comment with your version using #oceanhero! I made their simple tuna pasta dish.

• Suitcase – won in a prize draw on the Delsey Facebook page.
• Harry Potter Colouring Book – won in the @HouseofMarbles World Book Day Twitter competition with a photo of Ryland dressed as Wimpy Kid Greg Heffley.

• Infinite Sky Book – from a prize draw on the Maximum Pop website, advertised on Twitter by @maximumpopbooks.
• Alvin & the Chipmunks goodie bag – from an entry form prize draw (and asking a question!) in KRAZE magazine. Check my guide to kids mags and comics to see which ones have entry forms in.
• 12 cartons of Rice Dream – won in a Mothers Day competition on Twitter with @ricedreamUK, for sharing a photo of this dress that my Mum made for me!

• Deadpool hats and hoodie, plus 2 Cineworld tickets – photo competition using the Tornado Energy mobile app to take a photo with Deadpool character. This promotion had lots of prizes, but it was pretty complicated to take part. I had to ask hubby to snap dozens of photos of me lying on the floor, and then realised I didn’t enter correctly and had to do it all over again!
