List of current UK text competitions
If you love text-to-win (SMS) competitions, but don’t want to spend money on the expensive premium rate competitions advertised on TV and radio, here’s a helpful resource! It’s a list of current UK text competitions you can enter for the cost of a standard network rate text (this varies from 1p to 40p depending which network provider you have). The list is split into NPN (no purchase necessary) comps where you can text without buying a product, and PN (purchase necessary) comps where you need to buy the product prior to entry.

How to enter a text-to-win competition
When you enter a TTW, you have to send a KEYWORD and may need to include your NAME and sometimes DATE OF BIRTH, POSTCODE or FULL ADDRESS. Occasionally you might need to send the last 4 digits of a product barcode too.
You will usually receive a ‘bounceback’ – depending on the format of the promotion, you will receive either a reply confirming your entry into the draw, a reply with a link to upload a receipt photo, or an instant win/lose message. If you accidentally enter too many times, you should receive a ‘Sorry, you have exceeded the entry limit for this service’ type of message.
If you win a text entry competition, you will usually get a text message congratulating you on your win, although it could be a phone call. Winners may need to email a specific address within a set period to claim their prize, or may be sent a link to a form to complete their details. For some TTWs, particularly those run by PromoVeritas, this form may request bank details. For some TTW comps with smaller cash prizes, you may be texted details of how to claim your prize at a cash machine.

Tesco keywords have optional numbers added to show where you saw the competition (eg. 6 for Tesco website, 2 for Tesco magazine) – these numbers are not included here as it will affect Tesco’s marketing insights.
Unless otherwise stated, all comps listed below are open to UK residents aged 18+. For some comps, you can text multiple times – this is included in the information below.
If you’re unable to text a shortcode, you may have a spend cap on your account – contact your mobile provider to check. Lebara and Lycamobile do not allow any shortcode texts at all.

Current text-to-win competitions (purchase necessary)
For the following text-to-win promotions, you’ll need to make a purchase, keep hold of your receipt and THEN send your text entry! You will either need to upload a receipt when you enter, or will be asked to send a photo of the receipt if you win. In a few cases, particularly with lower value prizes, winners will not be asked to show a receipt at all – but it’s a big risk to enter without having a receipt.
Where more than one entry is allowed, terms and conditions usually state ‘one itemised receipt per entry’, but generally the promoter will only ask to see a single receipt if you win, so you can buy once then enter daily. If the promoter does intend to ask the winners to send photos of a receipt corresponding to every entry they made, they should make this clear in the T&Cs – see my blog post Purchase-necessary promotions: just one receipt, or one receipt per entry? for more on this.
Most T&Cs will state you need to buy from a ‘participating’ store – this generally means stores advertising the promotion, but even if your store isn’t advertising it, it doesn’t mean they’re not participating (some stores never put promotional posters and shelf labels out on display!)
With Co-op purchase necessary comps, the participating stores are the CO-OP blue logo stores (although some may still have a green storefront outside!) rather than the regional Southern/East of England Co-ops. Check your receipt for the link coop.co.uk/membership to confirm it’s a Co-op.

Text entry radio competitions
UK commercial radio stations run standard rate text entry competitions which are sponsored by brands (the premium rate £2 comps don’t have sponsors). Tune in to Heart, Capital, Capital XTRA, and Radio X for details of these comps, which are usually on the breakfast or drivetime shows. The Guinness/Morrisons Christmas jumper ttw.Where can I find what the qualifying products are?My enry with the barcode from a 4pack original Guinness from Morrisons has been rejected.have tried 3 times.
There are others who have had barcodes rejected, who have posted on the Legends forum chat post at https://forum.superlucky.me/shopping-list-pn-comps/15486-cd-31-12-guinness-at-morrisons-win-1000-x-xmas-jumper-ttw-wm – one with the same product as yours, and one with a large bottle. I would assume someone has contacted them about this and it will be fixed soon!

I have been doing cops for the last 25 years.
When I do the TTW comps with Tesco I do it once with my phone and a couple of days later do it again with my wife`s phone, but when i do it the second time the message comes back saying i have exceeded the limit even though it says one entry per person, Am i doing something wrong.
Do you both have the same name? I can’t imagine why there would be a problem unless you both send exactly the same message!
Sometimes Tesco does send this message incorrectly, and you can enter again the next day. But are you getting it regularly?

It has only happened twice, on the TTW Burgers & TTW Game, My wife is Called Diane and as you know I am Ali so don`t know.
Just rec a text from Tesco have won £ 30 with Alpro the milk.
Must tell you I did a comp in 1996 with Kellogg`s Cornflakes, Had to send in a postcard and tell them where you would like to go on holiday, I think there was 24 Destination prizes over 6 Month. I won a trip to New York with my wife and two kids 16 and 21 year old. We flew from Aberdeen to Southampton & one night in a hotel. Next day limo down to the docks and board the Queen Elizabeth 2, 6 days sailing to New York, Limo to hotel , Stayed for a week and they gave us £ 1000 spending money. After a week the Limo took us to the airport and we flew back to London in Concord.
Stayed a night in London then next day flew back to Aberdeen. That has been my best prize up till now. Di do you remember that one.

There is one where you have to buy a packet and enter receipt closing 16 July on the Shopping List and then there is a similar one above in the Recently closed texts which says 9 July. I usually order my qualies online and then click & collect at my local store
What do you think is the best way to attach/upload the emailed Tesco receipts … they are just so long?

I usually open the email, then print it to a PDF (select this instead of a printer).
Then change to a JPEG on the Workintool website at https://www.workintool.com/pdf-converter/pdf-to-long-image.html, tap the big blue + button, then find the receipt PDF on your device. Select a format option (choose ‘twenty in one’ to ensure all pages will be included)
Press the blue download button and tap the download banner at the bottom of the screen to confirm. Tap Open In to open the compressed .zip file in your downloads then double tap to expand it. Inside the folder you’ll find your new long receipt JPEG.
It’s a good idea to tap the share icon and Save Image to save the new receipt JPEG to your device gallery.

Hi Di I’ve been entering the daily mail Sudoku, arrow word ect text competitions but never received a bounce back text. Is it normal to not receive one I’ve tried looking for the answer but I can’t seem to find it.
For lots of text comps you don’t get a bounceback message (for example the brand comps you hear on commercial radio!) so I wouldn’t worry. Sometimes it does state in the T&Cs whether or not you should expect one.
Do you get a bounce back text from the Rubicon EID competition? I didn’t but I was just checking the number is correct. 07378905673 above but terms say 077378905673 which has one too many digits.
There’s no bounceback for this one. I queried the number with Rubicon and they said that it’s 07378905673 and there was one too many 7s in the T&Cs – they’re going to update it.

I called Global and they confirmed that the T&Cs apply to all Global comps, so if you were on a 6 month ban you wouldn’t be eligible to win the Make Some Noise comps. Hi Di, I have entered quite a few purchase necessary Tesco, text to win entries, but I have never received a text to say thank you for your entry, does that mean they have not got my entry or am I entering it wrong? I normally upload my receipt first and then click enter now.
With the purchase comps, the on screen message you get after submitting your receipt photo is your confirmation of entry!
I don’t get an on screen message after to say entry has gone through
This is what should happen: you follow the link from the text message, then click to upload your receipt photo – when the photo has uploaded, you can then submit your entry. After a few seconds the screen will change to a message: ‘Your receipt has been uploaded, thank you for entering’.

Just ordered an ASDA SIM to start text comps. Out of interest, how successful would you say you are with them?
Checking my stats I’ve won 8 text comps this year, plus a radio text-to-win. The two biggest prizes were a 50 inch TV and a football training session, both with Tesco. I won 10 text comps in 2022, the biggest prize was £1,000 in a Co-op comp.

With the tesco competitions, can you shop at tesco express or does it have to be tesco?
For the prize draws that require a purchase, you can buy online or in any Tesco store, including Tesco Metro and Tesco Express.

Hi Di, when I clicked on the terms and conditions on the site it stated the date 31st Aug to 6th Oct 2023 for the four nights in NYC promotion. I entered though and got a message saying thanks for entering.

Hi Di, thank you so much for listing Tesco TTW competitions. I got my first iPhone recently and today got first notification of TTW. One of runners up in Evian / Tesco comp (2 refillable bottles ) . Thought it was scam at first since comp finished on 4/7/23, but they just wanted delivery address!
