Heart Faces for Florida is back!

It’s back! One of my favourite promotions from 2016 has returned – yes, Faces for Florida! And yet again this year – an amazingly generous twenty trips to Florida to be won, which can be taken in the school holidays (hooray!)

I won one of these fantastic holidays last year – you can read about our adventures in The Cokes in Florida!

Here’s the lowdown on the prizes:

Entries close 9am on Thursday 9th February – winners announced on air daily from 6th – 10th February.

How to enter

This year it’s much easier to enter – no printing of masks required! But that means more entries, and more imagination required to make your entry stand out in the crowd… but as SuperLucky readers, you know how to do that, right?

  • First, find a good photo of you and your family to use.
  • Go to win.heart.co.uk/visit-florida/competition and upload the photo and crop it – this is much easier on a computer!
  • Customise your image with Jamie and Emma’s faces, plus other fun stickers.
  • Drag the corners of the faces and stickers to resize, or tap outside the sticker to rotate it.
  • Submit your entry and share it with your friends!

As I was lucky enough to win last year, I’m not entering this time round – but here’s an example of how to use the stickers and faces!

Judging criteria

Winning entries will be selected by the Heart FM judges “based on the most creative, entertaining, relevant and feel good submissions” – here are my suggestions for how to tick all those boxes!

  • Creative – use the stickers creatively, resizing and rotating so they look different to other entries. How about taking a photo at a funfair, replacing a line of coconuts with Jamie’s faces? Or an upside down head in the air instead of a beachball or football? How about NOT covering your family’s faces at all, and using Jamie & Emma stickers on someone/something else? You could try adding text to your photo in Photoshop or Canva before you upload it – but make sure it’s readable and doesn’t make your photo too busy!
  • Entertaining – choose an interesting or funny setting/background, something that Jamie and Emma can ask you about if brought on air – do you have a good story to tell about the photo?
  • Relevant – can you make your entry relevant to that week’s prize, to the destination, to Heart FM, to Jamie & Emma? The first week’s Disney prizes each include a VIP experience – could you create a photo related to Star Wars or Frozen, for example? Last year I included an inflatable alligator in my photo because Gatorland was part of the prize…
  • Feel good – was the photo you used taken on a family holiday or special occasion? Including children or pets always evokes a feelgood factor!

Before you submit your entry, check the other entries – does yours stand out amongst them? There’s one entry allowed per weekly competition – so make sure it’s a good one! And note that it does say in the instructions ‘You and your family’ – my tip would be to try to include four people in the photo, as it’s a holiday for four that you’re trying to win. The terms also state one entry per person – so you could enter, plus your partner or husband/wife could also submit an entry too.

If Jamie and Emma pick you as a winner, they’re likely to call you the day before (from a London number) to find out a bit more – and to check you’ll be around to answer the on-air phone call during the next day’s breakfast show. They might tell you that you’ve been shortlisted, but to be honest I’ve yet to hear of anyone who’s been shortlisted with Heart and hasn’t gone on to win the prize… it’s a way to ensure you’ll definitely answer their on-air phone call, but still be surprised and excited!

Check out the winning entries so far for 2017 in my Facebook album…

Full terms and conditions are here – read them thoroughly and good luck!

Thank you for sharing, great prizes! I just eneterd but it doesnt ask for your phone number? or did I miss it?

    • I think you need to be logged in to enter, then there’s a box for your contact number – but that might be new. Maybe they have numbers already if you’re signed in?

Thankyou so much, very helpful. We tried so hard last year, the children came up with some fab ideas. The photo that springs to mind for this comp does show five of us, do you think that will put the judges off choosing it as the prize is for four people? We are actually a family of six but I was hoping if we were lucky enough to win that maybe we could pay for the extra two children, not sure if they let you do this though. It is near impossible to find holiday comps for families of six.

    • Emma was one of last years winners and paid extra for 7 of them to go, but I would probably stick to 4 in the photo!!
