Four fun kids competitions

Involving the family in your comping is a great way to win more prizes – and a fun way to spend quality time creating with the kids. Here are four current competitions that should inspire you to get creative (closing dates from February – August 2017).

Win a trip to Denmark with Lego

Design a new Lego Friends building for Heartlake City and you could win a week long trip to Billund to see your set be made – and even yourself created as a minidoll! You must be registered with Lego, and then use Lego bricks or the online designer to create your building and upload four photos. It’s open to kids aged 6-12 worldwide, but there’s an extra grand prize in the UK of £720 of Lego Friends sets. T&Cs and judging criteria are lengthy, so do have a good read if you’re entering.

Visit the Lego website for more information – the closing date is 28 February 2017 and you must travel on 27 March 2017.

Win a family break to Germany

Have you visited the Kindernauts website? They’ve got a lovely promotion running throughout 2017, where every creative challenge completed gives you an entry into a draw to win a 2-night break for up to 6 people in Germany. To take part, you must be over 21 and entering for a chid aged between 4 and 12.

Each month throughout the year there are three suggested fun activities to do with your child – it could be getting out and about, making masks, or singing! For each one you complete, upload a photo and you’ll get an entry in the prize draw (so you can earn 36 entries in total). Enter at kindernauts.co.uk – a winner will be chosen at random after the closing date of 31st August 2017.

Win £900 of National Book Tokens!

Doodle a book token design for World Book Day and you could win £500 of National Book Tokens for your school library, £200 for you and £200 for your teacher! Download an entry form, create your design and ask your teacher to sign it before posting it off. A panel of judges will select a winner and runner-up in each of three age categories: up to 8 years, 9–12 years and 13–16 years. Runners up get £250 of National Book Tokens for the school, £100 for them and £100 for the teacher.

Find out more and download an entry form at worldbookday.com – closing date is 14 April 2017.

Win a writing set and cuddly dinosaur

Everyone who enters this will get a letter in response, and you could also win a cuddly dinosaur and writing set! Post your letter to Dear Dinosaur, Scholastic Children’s Books, Euston House, 24 Eversholt Street, London NW1 1DB and include your address so that the dinosaur can write back. Find out more at shop.scholastic.co.uk – closing date is 28 February 2017.

I hadn’t spotted there was a specific travel date for the Lego friends one – that rules us out this time as my baby is due the first week of April!!

Worth keeping an eye on the Lego website though (and getting the free Lego club magazine) as they regularly run creative comps to win Lego e.g. Build a treehouse, design a new police vehicle, etc.

    • I love the Lego Club magazine, but I reckon they must get loads of entries for their competitions! We were really lucky to win a trip to Legoland Denmark ourselves in 2015, it was ace!
