It’s Saturday again – and time to share more lovely Winners Stories from SuperLucky readers to keep you entertained. This week the theme is animals – and two rather unique prize experiences… 

Claudia won an amazing Lion King prize thanks to Disney Junior…

“Back in March I spotted a Disney Junior Lion Guard photo competition on Facebook. The prize was a trip to London to be transformed into a pride of lions, tickets to see the Lion King and an overnight hotel stay. Looking at the entries and having read the T&Cs I spotted that many entrants had not followed the terms and conditions – the pictures were of their children and they themselves were not in the photos! It was the last day for entries and I got around to taking a photo of 3 of us (my youngest was asleep) – I just drew whiskers and noses on all of us, dragged out an old Simba toy and took a quick selfie. I also had to write a little comment about how my lion pride was stronger together so I thought Disney happy thoughts and crossed my fingers.”

“The following Wednesday a London number rang, and they asked me if I was available to travel that Saturday and accept the prize. We were over the moon!”

“We travelled down on the train from Bradford to King’s Cross and were whisked away for the photo shoot. We weren’t sure what to expect but all we had to do was pose with our hands over our face – the rest would be done on computer by a guy in America! From there we were taken to K West in Shepherds Bush and had some free time before our pre-theatre dinner at Zizzi and Lion King.  We were a little concerned because our youngest at 3 was really considered a little young for the show but we needn’t have worried, from the moment it started they were both transfixed and I bawled all the way through circle of life as it’s my favourite song!”

“We had an amazing time, and out story even made the newspapers! All thanks to a hobby that my best friend encouraged me to take up when I stopped working as a teacher to spend more time with my family. My boys are now completely Lion King mad, listening to the soundtrack all the time and we have a framed version of the picture on our wall that we received in July. We will never forget it!”

Becky was one of the lucky Sun-Pat ‘Fuel Your Dreams’ winners…

“My favourite win since I started comping in April is a real dream come true – I was picked as one of the two main prize winners of the Sun-Pat Fuel Your Dreams competition. All I had to do was write a few lines about what I had always dreamed of doing – I adore animals and have wanted to be a zookeeper ever since I was tiny! My prize was a special zookeeper experience with the wonderful Helen Skelton who is a truly inspirational woman, plus an overnight hotel stay, tickets to the zoo and food vouchers. I also got to take my fabulous mum along who is just as animal crazy as me! Also included in the prize package was a year’s supply of Sun-Pat peanut butter (48 jars, in case you were wondering!) and a £1000 donation to a local charity of my choice.”

“We had an incredible time full of amazing up-close experiences. I never thought that I’d ever be face to face with a tiger feeding it meat on a stick or stroking a rhino, that’s for sure! It was a fabulous day and Helen was so nice and funny. She spent the whole day with us, interacting with the animals alongside us, although she was 8 months pregnant at the time (you wouldn’t have known it looking at her though, as she is tiny!). “

“This prize really was a dream come true for me – I’m so grateful to have been picked as a winner!”
