Comping in Cardiff
I do like it when an unexpected trip results in a few competiiton finds! This week I’m staying with my parents in South Wales and we visited Cardiff shopping today – although we only stayed in the St Davids (Dewi Sant) centre we found lots of promotions advertised in the shops.
In the new Wolverine shop (previously Hush Puppies) you could try on any pair of shoes to get an entry form – fill it out and one winner gets an iPad. The shop assistant told me this one closes on 24th May.
Downstairs at Crocs they’re advertising a ‘Capture the fun’ competiiton to win a family holiday to Florida. This is a nice one – share a photo of your Crocs and share on Twitter or Instagram with #sharethefun. The ‘most compelling’ entry wins the holiday; this one is open to entrants in Belgium, Finland, Sweden, France, Germany, United Kingdom, Ireland, Spain and The Netherlands and full details are at crocs.eu/findyourfun. Closing date is 15th June.
At the Whittard stand there were flyers advertising a competition to win a Darjeeling High Tea Tour – you can enter simply by visiting www.whittard.co.uk and completing your details on the pop up. Closing date is 15th June.
There’s a lovely Hamleys toy shop in St Davids and they have an in-store treasure hunt type competition this week – grab an entry form and find the five Droid posters hidden in store, then write their names on the form and pop in the post box. You can win a meet and greet with Star Wars characters at your local Hamleys plus Star Wars toys. Be quick though – it closes tomorrow, 22nd May!
In Deichmann shoes there were lots of posters and tags advertising their summer competition – to win one of three £200 festival kits, complete your details on their Facebook app before 22nd June.
Clarks had leaflets advertising a prize of a family holiday if you upload your adventures at www.adventureswithclarks.com – however I couldn’t find any information on the site (or in the T&Cs) about prizes, even after uploading a story! (update – apparently the prize part of the promotion closed back in April, that’s a shame!)
In the Disney store there were A4 entry forms to win a screening of Spiderman for you and 30 friends plus Spiderman toys. Complete your details and hand to a staff member before 26th May.
After we left St Davids, we spent the afternoon in the brilliant Techniquest where I collected copies of Primary Times, Cardiff & The Vale and BUZZ listings magazine, all of which are good for competitions. Even if you don’t live locally, it’s worth entering – I’ve won several comps advertised in BUZZ and the Welsh Ladies First magazine (now sadly defunct!) and they were happy to post prizes to me in Nottingham.
