SuperLucky Stories 2015: family fun
At the end of last year I shared my own creative comping successes and asked for you to email through your own 2014 wins! This is the first of four blog posts showcasing the wonderful creative entries that were successful for SuperLucky readers – and in the final post I’ll announce which of you won a £50 Amazon voucher in my prize draw!
As you know, my family are good sports and (usually) willing to help me out with my fun competition photos. If you’ve got a day at home with the kids, scheduling in a couple of arty or crafty comps, or staging a silly photo can make a change from the usual routine!
Zoey won £100 when she entered this super cute photo in the Tropicana/Metro #morningsunshine competition – you had to tweet a photo of what brightened up your morning!

Neill took this wonderful photo of his record collection to win an Audio Technica cartridge plus £100 to spend on records. “I figured I couldn’t compete on volume (seriously, some people had walk-in wardrobes’ worth!) and there was little point in sending in another snap of the same old same old, so I came up with a little copy that I hoped would resonate with the brand’s values and grabbed a few props a day or two before the comp closed.” Neill’s tip? “Whenever you can check out the competition, do so – and then do something different.”

‘Vinyl has a warmth and tactility that our iPods just can’t match. What’s mentioned less often is its durability. A wedge of my LPs were inherited from my father and will in turn be passed to my son. It’s never too early to encourage an interest in it!’
Bex‘s daughter Amie won a few art comps last year, including tickets to Charlie & Lola and a local wildlife park. Bex says: “I think it’s lovely when your children enter and win – they feel so great!”

Yet Another Blogging Mummy always does a great round up of her creative wins and won lots of fab prizes last year – with a little help from the family! And Claire’s tip? “Always take several different photos…” to enter in different competitions “…my son won three prizes for making Mr Potato Head, not bad!”
Helen‘s son had his artwork featured in the Stabilo calendar! “I was trying to encourage him to do colouring competitions on a sick day off school as something for him to do. I had found a local competition that I was convinced would have a very low entry rate. It involved colouring in a parrot template. The second competition was the Stabilo calendar, he decided to do August as that is his birth month and spent a long time doing his entry. He won both! Family tickets to Treasure Island on Christmas Eve, and a huge stack of pens and his picture in their calendar. I am so happy that he won and realised a little effort can reap a great reward!”

Carrie‘s daughters created the scary Eyeballerina and won a family trip to Disneyland Paris with Philips Lighting! “When we saw the tweet announcing that my children had won (especially as the competition was open worldwide!) we were ecstatic, but no-one more than them. They finally saw a reward for their own efforts!”

Jo‘s son won a ‘design a Christmas plate’ competition – and even got featured in the local paper!

Here are a couple of gorgeous kids costumes to make you smile. Sian won £100 voucher from Andy Loos with her ‘loo roll art’ – a gorgeous dress for a pretty young lady!

This brilliant robot costume won its creator Joy a £50 Argos voucher!

And finally, how cool is this Hama Beads comic which won Grainne‘s talented son a £50 voucher?
Thanks to everyone who contributed to this post – and look out for part 2 next week!

That’s such a great round-up full of great, creative photo. Brilliant tip from Yet Another Blogging Mummy!
Some super-talented kids can’t choose a favourite! Lovely to see the Philips winner, that was a good comp.
I love these posts its great to see what everyone else has won!
Brilliant stuff – awesome kids! x
Thank you for including us in your round-up. Son2 had great fun making his Mr potato head, but I don’t seem to have much time for comping this year and the boys seem even less interested now
