Ideal Home Show Competitions

The Ideal Home Show visits London annually, and this was my first experience of the Christmas edition. Olympia was heaving with people, even on a Thursday morning – I dread to think how packed it must get at the weekend!

The problem I have with shows is that I usually have to squeeze my visit in between the school runs in Brighton. So I covered as much of the show as I could in my limited time and took a note of the comps I entered, as I know lots of you will be heading to the show over the weekend to do the same. Unfortunately I had to duck out of Olympia before Martin Lewis arrived to film for his money saving TV show – I would have loved to say hello!

Anyway, back to the competitions – here are the ones I spotted on my way round, although I probably missed a few…

• Complete an Ideal Home entry form to join their mailing list and post in the box on the way in for your chance to win a night’s stay at the Hilton.

• Exdemo Beats: complete an entry form for a prize draw to win Beats Headphones
• Samsung: share a photo taken on or by the Samsung bus with #10minbreak and #London to win prizes. Pop into the bus and try the VR headset on for some virtual surfing and you’ll get a card you can exchange for a lucky dip prize.
• Logs direct: entry form draw to win firewood
• Virgin Media: play the game on an iPad and complete your details on an entry form to win an iPad, there’s also an entry form prize draw to win a£200 Experience Voucher

• Hillarys: complete an entry form for a prize draw to win a hamper
• BB Bakery: look for iPads near the red bus, join mailing list to win afternoon tea on their bus!
• Fantastic Services: pin the nose on the reindeer, if you’re successful enter a prize draw to win a free service of your choice (oven clean, gardening etc).

• Bulldog security: complete a form to enter a prize draw to win a bottle of champagne
• ATG tickets: win a family ticket for Peter Pan at New Wimbledon Theatre

• Scentsy: complete a form to enter a prize draw to win a wax burner
• Minty Coco: complete a form to win a Devon holiday for 10

• Santa’s Lapland: complete a prize draw entry form to win a family trip to Lapland this December.

• London tea: complete a prize draw entry form to win a year’s supply of tea
• Moccis: complete the iPad entry form to enter a prize draw for a set of family Moccis

• Hooded Owls: complete an entry form to enter a prize draw to win a personalised towel

• Make a purchase at the Make Me…. stand (they sell lots of cushions!) and you’ll be entered to win a sofa worth £1665

You can also pick up a complimentary goody bag at the show, including Dolmio pasta, Fairy & Ariel sampleas, Baileys chocolate, a Bisto sachet, Barilla linguine and coupons for Fairy, Flash, Thirst Pockets and 10% off at Dunelm. Look out for the Telegraph stall too, where you can buy the newspaper for £1.40 and get a free paperback book and canvas tote bag.

I must admit I was disappointed that such a low number of stands were hosting prize draws at the show. There were several small companies who weren’t interacting with the visitors at all: a simple prize draw would have generated interest in their products and helped them start a conversation, as well as adding people to their email list! I handed out a few business cards to the friendliest stalls though, and hope to be hosting giveaways for them soon on SuperLucky!

If you do go to the show this weekend, have fun… but watch out for the crowds!
