Mothers Day Competitions to enter now!

Mothering Sunday is on 19th March 2023 and we’re already seeing the usual Mum related comps on social media and in the shops! I’ve shared several of my favourites in this post – although this year I’m yet to see many judged creative competitions!

Local and independent businesses run Mothers Day comps and I’ve spotted lots on Instagram. You’ll also find lots of easy entry prize draws by doing an Instagram search on #MothersDayGiveaway and checking recent posts!

For the creative competitions, get ready to answer these common questions:

• What’s your favourite memory of your Mum?
• Why’s your Mum so special?
• What’s the best advice your Mum has given you?
• Why does your Mum deserve to win this prize?

Type up your answers and set a keyboard shortcut on your phone, so you can quickly use the same answer on different competition posts. And if you’re good with rhymes, a funny or touching poem is usually popular with promoters.

Make sure you have a few funny, retro or memorable photos at hand – the organised compers among you may you already have a folder or album ready from last year’s competitions. If Mum’s not around any more, share childhood memories – or you could even share a story about your own children or a good mum friend! Lots of promoters allow entrants to tag or nominate a friend or relative who’s a mum, rather than it having to be their own mum. 

Don’t be put off entering creative competitions if you don’t have an incredible story or amazing photo – in many cases the winners are chosen at random rather than judged, so as long as your entry is valid you’ll have a chance of winning!
