Weekend Winners
Getting the kids involved in photo competitions can pay off – and it doesn’t mean you need to put in a lot of effort. Sometimes you can win prizes with favourite family photos you already have! Check out this weekend’s winning stories…
Sam won a £300 prize bundle in the CenterParcs family meal photo competition:
“In July we went to Disneyland Paris where there is a lovely pirate themed restaurant, so we kitted ourselves out in pirate hats and swords and headed to the restaurant for some piratey fun. I submitted this photo into the Center Parcs competition but I was still shocked to receive the congratulations tweet to say we had indeed won! The prize arrived in a HUGE box filled to the brim with family games (Jenga being a firm favourite!), puppets, chocolates, marshmallows, and more! Best of all it included £100 Cineworld voucher and £100 restaurant vouchers. We’ve had a couple of fabulous family Saturdays at the movies followed by a meal during the cold winter months that our boys have thoroughly enjoyed!”

Kelly won a really unusual prize with her family photo – a spot in a Celebrating Dads exhibition at the National Portrait Gallery!
“Photobox ran a Fathers Day competition and I submitted my favourite photo of my little boy and his daddy. I won a lovely glass photoblock of the photo and had my original photo blown up huge, framed and displayed in the National Portrait Gallery in London for their special Fathers Day event. Unfortunately I couldn’t make it to the event but I did manage to get a glimpse of them hanging my photo! Best prize ever!”

Alex was delighted when Persil launched their Back to School Instagram comp:
“The first theme was messy uniforms and there weren’t many entries. My son came home from school covered in tomato so I bit the bullet and gave him a squeezy yogurt which I’d cut both ends off (naughty mummy!). I wish I’d set my camera to take a square pic as I had to choose which bit of the picture to use but as it was a messy uniform challenge I went with the yogurt dripping everywhere rather than his face. It was great fun and we were chuffed to win a Clarks voucher!”
Tip: Instagram now allows photos of any proportion – not just square. Handy for situations like this one!

Jo used my google search tips to nab a prize on her wish list:
“Toytopia tickets were on my wish list after the children spotted it in Primary Times magazine. I used Di’s google search tips and entered as many as I could. The one we won had only 2 entrants – we had to share your children’s favourite books and I included a Horrid Henry photo! Consequently we had a fun packed day out and my little boy bagged himself some free Doctor Who goodies in a question and answer session at one of the showings – proud Mum moment!”

Look out for more winning stories next weekend!

Ooh Alfie and Ava are pleased they are featured on here! 🙂
My son loves taking photos & posing- we’ve just started doing photo comps this year but are having real fun doing them (and obviously a win will only make it more fun!)
Fab pics and stories. Have been asking my kids to get involved so will show them this and hopefully they will be encouraged 🙂
