Kids Summer Holiday Competitions

School’s out for summer! Six long weeks of keeping the kids entertained – what fun! There are plenty of ways to do it of course, but the activities where your talented offspring might possibly win amazing prizes are always the best, right?

At the end of this post you’ll find a ‘linky’ list with lots of creative and fun kids competitions to keep them busy – pick the ones you fancy and schedule them into your summer break!

In terms of creative photo and video competitions, here’s a few themes that crop up each and every year, so be prepared…

• Camping & festivals
• Picnics & BBQs
• Nature & wildlife
• Seaside & sandcastles

Photos with bright colours, smiling faces and movement (splashing or jumping) always stand out – try Instagram filters for lovely results on blue skies and water.

If you want to do something different with an action photo, try the Boomerang app to create a 1-second mini video loop – the kids will enjoy playing with this too!

If a photo competition involves a certain brand, you could write their name on the beach in sand or pebbles, or even with daisy chains on grass!

And of course, don’t forget about SnapperTime and Kindernauts websites, where you can complete fun challenges to earn rewards and prize draw entries. And if you have a little bookworm at home, ask them to review the books they read at Toppsta, and enter the giveaways while they’re at it! If you’re looking to buy your child a comic, check my list of children’s magazines to see which ones have competitions (the mags with entry forms are your best bet!) – and while you’re in town, pop into The Entertainer to pick up entry forms for their latest competitions.

Finally – don’t forget to film yourself talking about Disney memories and characters for a chance to win a trip to Disneyland Paris with AttractionTix!

Wishing you all a wonderful break – keep popping back as I’ll be adding new comps to the linky throughout summer!
