My 5th Blogaversary – and a chance to win £50 to spend at Bliss! (CLOSED)
Can you believe it’s five years ago today that I started waffling about my wins here at SuperLucky? And there’s something in the air this year already that makes me feel 2014 will definitely be the year of @SuperLuckyDi pulling out all the comping stops. So watch out, because I’m seriously going all out to win lot of fabulous prizes this year – my spreadsheet is ready and waiting to be filled!
Yes indeed, lots of exciting things will be happening at www.superlucky.co.uk kicking off in spring… so if you want to be the FIRST to hear the news, then make sure you’ve signed up to receive emails from me here – I’ll be sending out exclusive subscriber-only content too.
To celebrate my 5th blogaversary, I’m doing a giveaway! It’s easy to enter – if you don’t subscribe already, be sure to sign up to my mailing list (don’t forget to click the confirmation email from MailChimp too!) and then leave me a comment here to let me know what you’d like me to blog about in 2014. Would you like to read comping tips, watch YouTube tutorials, hear more about the latest creative competitions, listen to my rants about crap promoters, enter exclusive giveaways, read interviews with other successful compers… or just be jealous when I share more photos from my prize holidays? I’d love to hear what you enjoy about SuperLucky and what topics you’d like me to blog about, no matter how specialist or obscure they might seem. How to take selfies in Instagram, The joys of 5am instant wins, Why Like & Share competitions are crap, How to style your hair to look like a bloke – you know, all the things that WILL help you win more prizes.
Let me know in the comments below what YOU want to read on SuperLucky and I’ll choose one winner at random who will bag themselves £50 to spend at www.blissworld.co.uk, on their range of fab skincare and pampering products for men and women. This competition is open WORLDWIDE* – the winner can choose products to the value of £50 in their local currency, and I will arrange delivery.
Good luck!

Well I struggle with Tie Breakers so any advise on that would be great. Also. like everybody else, any advise on spotting dubious comps would be appreciated. I started comping last year. I’ve been middle of the road lucky so far. I’ve only found your blog tonight. I’m fascinated to start reading through what you get up to. Any advise with regards to twitter? I find myself deleting old RTs. I’m a bit paranoid about comp organisers would see me as a ‘professional comper’ based on my tweet history and discard my entry. I’ve had the least luck with twitter so far.

I’d love you to write a piece on comping etiquette, ie saying thank you when you’ve been announced as a winner, ensuring you’ve read the instructions in the post (Facebook comps) and checking your spelling! I’m a pedantic so-and-so 🙂

I would love to get my head round Twitter comps more, but love hearing about your creative comps as they inspire me to enter them, so keep up the good work 🙂
Does it improve your chances if you complete the daily task ie) tweet a link on a rafflecopter competition every day ? As I have sometimes won just by entering once !
maybe tutorials on Pinterest as I am not that creative or tips on what companies should expect of you and if they can sometimes ask too much.
I’d love to see some guest posts from others showing their best prizes, their comping strategies and stories etc. Not that I don’t enjoy reading your experiences too though, and I love your creative competition entries, so any hints on those would be good too!

I would love to see more of your wonderful winning stories – very inspirational & makes me want to comp even more!!
More people are using mobile devices to browse the net (“experts” reckon desktop pcs will be obselete in homes in the next few years) – which will mean more users will require mobile/responsive access to enter competitions. A blog about promotors who actively promote entering using mobile/tablet devices would be interesting and informative.

Oh, must try harder! Thanks.
Hello Di, my first time commenting here. Greetings from abroad. I have been somewhat on and off joining in my country’s comping scene. I love slogan-type of competition but I still find myself struggling with short slogans. You know, perhaps those which are 10 words or less, that contains instant “punchline” or witty slogan, incorporating organizer’s brands etc creatively into the slogan. I think I am pretty OK with ’20 words or less’ kinda slogan but that makes it look somewhat like poem! I have tried reading on various websites and there are also many newspaper headlines that have a creative punchline too. Any advice is appreciated!
Love your blog as it is, but would also like to see some guest posts on it maybe x

Comping tips
I’d like to see more of the same- it’s all fab stuff and very inspirational.

maybe tips on how to enter comps via social media. when i first started i didn’t know what i was supposed to do and worried for ages that i was doing it wrong. for example i didn’t know how to tag someone on fb, didn’t know how to tweet or retweet and something i’m still not totally confident on is pinterest.
I was going to ask about slogans but see that you’ve already put a link to where you write about that. I’m so unimaginative it’s unbelievable – that’s why I’d love to know how you come up with your ideas for comps sometimes, and where you find them!
Besides how to prevent compers wrist from too many entries, I would be interested to know how best to organise my comping so I don’t miss things and get in a muddle!
I would like more info on what to do when competitions go wrong, specifically when promoters drag their feet about awarding prizes and announcing winners.
comping tips and extreme couponing please xx
I would like to know how many people have entered each competition ….
What I’d love to know is how random draws of texts, phone, email etc. are carried out. Also, fb random draws – are they all carried correctly? is there a correct way of doing them? etc… Thanks for your blogs – always love reading them 🙂
I’d love to see some more tips about winning tie breaker competitions – something I don’t do enough of.
I like to read more about the people who run competitions as I like finding out what their point of view of compers are
Personally, I’d like to see more comp success stories, including how long the people have been comping and how long it took them to start winning comps!

comping tips
Personal stories are always interesting to hear, that’s why I think more of that would be superb.
I’d like to know how to organise myself better, I randomly use FB, Twitter etc but feel I miss out on comps. How should I do it? Is it worth entering dailies and instants or just sticking to one off comps. I need to know how to make best use of the couple of hours I have in an evening.
I’m new to this whole thing, so I’d love more tips! 🙂
PS. What is Disqus! Didn’t even realize I had an account!
It’s just a way to comment on blogs Helen; it stops all the spam as I can moderate them easily!
I’d like to know where you find new comps!! Especially creative/pinterest etc. Do you stumble upon them or google them etc. THANKS

As a new comper (2 weeks in and addicted!) i’d love to hear some tips and stories of your wins 🙂
I have just found your blog because of the Giveaway, and because is a new blog I did read some of your posts. And I saw many about your wins,I find them interesting,so I want to se more of them.
Happy Blogaversary you SuperBlogger you!
Would love to hear more about comping round the clock and what difference the time of day makes, what you’ve found makes the difference with the presentation of an entry or photograph, hints and tips you always abide by and what you’d like to learn about next. Thanks as always for your generosity in sharing all your information with us. xx
(^_^)/ Hai I just found your blog, as a giveaway lovers I looooooooooooooove your blog so much! Im not yet read all your article (thats will take time but I do will read all! haha) I have a great luck on international giveaway but also lose a lot :-p I really need a tips about how to win more international giveaway but the most importhing I want to know is how to deal with this ‘lose feeling & jealous feeling to winner’ (^_^)
Ha ha! That’s a really interesting one – how to lose gracefully!
I subscribed to the mailing list. Please blog more about your wins and comping tips as I am new to this. Thank you! 🙂
I would love to hear some tips about how to find skill-based competitions. I am subscribed to your mailing list.
I would like to win jaja!

I subscribed iris_murillo@hotmail.com
I would like to see photos of your wins and to read about where to find competitions.
Subscribed to the SuperLucky mailing list.
I love hearing about your wins, and what you have done to win things, however I would be interested in hearing about creative comps as soon as possible, sometimes I hear about creative comps but I have such a short time to complete the task. Thanks.
Personally, I’d like to see more success stories.
Already subscribed to mailing list 🙂 Would LOVE to hear more about your wins and others wins. I love getting excited about what others have won. I also would love tips on things like twitter comps, instagram, vine, and even pinterest as I’ve not really been brave enough to venture into trying out many of those so anything that gives a confidence boost to give those ones a go. I’d also love to hear more about how / when its worth chasing up no-show prizes, whether it is ever worth complaining, and how to effectively pester organisations to run fair competitions ie. get them to change their minds if they do voting ones. I usually point them to your blogpost on the topic but some organisations are so stubbornly set on it – they need to learn their lesson not to go down that route! I loved hearing about your google spreadsheet so any other tips on staying organised and becoming more efficient would be helpful e.g. I keep hearing about form-fillers but don’t know if its worth doing those or where to find them. I would also love to know how to get the comping/life balance right. I find I’m ‘all or nothing’ some months spending more hours doing it than people spend in a full-time job (yet squeezed in at night time and so leaving me deprived of sleep!) – It has, at times, taken on proper addictive qualities e.g. I’ve refused to go to bed until I’ve entered all the facebook comps in my facebook feed for that day (takes around 5 hours when i do that). Would love to know how to have a happy comping life without it compromising on family life! xxx
I love reading about wins!I would like to read about the best way to start comping if you are new to it all, where to find comps.
I’d love more tips about using Instagram to enter comps. I don’t seem to be able to use it properly on my Mac. The other thing I’d like is some tips about entering video comps as I’d love to give it a go this year, but haven’t been brave enough yet! x
Instagram tips, I can’t do it! Can you actually do it without an ipad/iphone? Tom won a swiss army knife on instagram though!!!
Only came across your blog via this competition but already I’m hooked. I’d like to read more about Twitter competitions, as I find them very complicated and more organisation tips for daily/weekly comps.
Keep up the good work!
I love hearing about tips for the effort type of competitions, how to write slogans etc, so more of this type of thing please!
I blogged about writing winning slogans here – http://www.superlucky.co.uk/2013/07/top-tips-on-winning-slogan-and.html!
Cheers Di, will take a look and get some good ideas!
Great blog. I enjoy seeing all your tips esp. about how to be a more organised, efficient comper (cos that aint me – yet!). It’s also good to know there is someone out there to stand up to these companies.
I’ve only just really found your blog and have been through most of your posts. Your wins are amazing and whilst they are inspiring, the evil part of me is also very jealous!!! Thanks for all your awesome words!
I have only just recently started comping but your blogs has given me so much motivations along with my few wins. I would love to hear more tips on comping, especially pinterest as this is something I haven’t mastered as yet and would like to enter some more creative comps instead of my usual facebook and twitter comps so any advice would be appreciated.
Congratulations on the successful of your blog and thank you very much all for your tips and help that you give us compers its is much appreciated.
What’s a 5AM instant win – it sounds exciting!
Ha ha! It’s when you have a unique competition code from a chocolate/yogurt/crisp wrapper and put it in online in the early hours – you’re MUCH more likely to get a ‘CONGRATULATIONS!!’ message at that time as nobody else is entering!
Rants about promoters
id love to see more info on instagram competitions , also maybe an article on if prizes dont arrive what the best course of action is … thanks for the fab blog posts , always love reading them 🙂
Love your blog and avidly read every email as soon as I see it in my inbox! Really appreciate all your advice re Instagram, Twitter, Vine & FB comps and am trying to wean myself away from like’n’share remembering ‘don’t like, don’t share!’ Love being inspired by hearing of your wins so really I would say just keep doing what you’re doing ‘cos you do it so well! 😉
I really appreciated your spreadsheet post, brought me luck too, as I hadn’t had a win yet this year, then had two wins days after setting it up! I’d like some tips on how to organise your comping time. I have realised how distracted I can get, drifting off on to FB etc! Sometimes I feel like a headless chicken, even though I consider myself a seasoned comper and have had great wins over the years, I still never know whether to enter closing comps, new comps, Twitter first and so on so I scrabble around. I have taken on board your advice to actively search for what is on your wishlist so I’m trying to focus more. Congrats on your Blogaversary you do such a good job, it’s the only blog I read every post of and look forward to your email alerts.
I’d love to see some video tutorials on things like where to look for comps…. Maybe a “typical comping day with Di” video would be cool??
i love everything about superlucky! what i would like to read next is info on the sites such as ukprizes, topfox, etc the ones who offer the biggest prizes….are they worth the entry with all those questions which make me think they’re just scamming and trying to get my number to pass on to companies who will hound me about gas, electric etc maybe its just me but i hate these and won’t do them coz i think they’re just scamming numbers??? info on these would be very helpful 🙂
tips on comping
I would love to read an article on how to get by during a dry spell. How to keep your comping mojo when you’re not winning, and how to boost your enthusiasm when you keep reading about others good wins. (don’t need an article to style my hair like a man…I’ve already mastered ‘Pat Sharp from Funhouse, circa 1986’! :/
I like the exclusive giveaways 😉 I also like when cheats and dodgy promoters are exposed. Happy New Year Di x
Love the idea of a spreadsheet – I might start doing that!
I would like to see tips on caption competitions…I am useless at these…maybe I’m just not witty enough!
Love to see pictures of your wins, i have only been comping for 6 months and you have inspired me with your wins, would love any tips for creative comps as that my goal this year (well that and loosing weight LOL) x
Oooh a little challenge for you: I’d like to hear what your “Top five weirdest ever wins” were? x
That’s a good one Claire!
a years supply of toothpicks?
I love Superlucky and it kind of gave me inspiration to start my own blog. I love your competition round ups when it’s coming up to a certain time of year and I really would like to see more of these, and also maybe more hints and tips on creating great entries (photography, photoshop etc).
Love the blog and reading all your tips especially the creative comps which I really am in awe of and any more tips about them would be great
I’d love to see more photos/videos of your wins, they inspire me and give me hope when i’m not winning 🙂
I have just found your blog, wow it’s amazing! I’d like some tips on how to organise doing several hundred dailies and also keeping up with a main competition board! Also does anybody have any tips of gaining energy to do them haha
I would love to know how you structure your comping between social networks and all the other comps
Happy Blogaversary! I know it appeared in CN but unfortunately I didn’t subscribe at the time….but a calendar of dates to look out for, as mentioned on your FB page would be very interesting. Oh, and I’d love to hear how far you and your readers would go to win a prize!
I would like tips on Pinterest. I can’t work out what the purpose of it is so I have no chance at those comps where you have to use it.
I’d like you to blog about how to organise yourself to enter all of these competitions. I’ve been comping for a few years now but the amount of comps and type of comps is increasing so much that if I don’t keep checking I fall so far behind. Any tips on comping coping would be great.
i have enjoyed reading your posts about the wins you have had, its interesting to see which photos and effort entries have brought you success, i have been inspired to try a few of these myself
Congrats! This is one of my favourite blogs to read and really has been so uplifting and helpful.
– I’d like more tips on tie-breakers and caption contests (I’m so bad at those)
– Pinterest comps (how to find them mainly as I love using Pinterest so would be great to comp more with it)
– How to find more creative comps!
– Some organisational advice to keep up with comping. I’m hoping to get a full time job soon but don’t want to loose my hobby.
Thanks Di, good luck for 2014 (not that you need it hehe) xx
Congratulations & here’s to many more successful years to come!
I am subscribed to your mailing list.
I love reading about your wins as they inspire me to enter competitions I don’t think I’d have a chance at winning. I also love comping tips as I believe I’m still a novice at it all even after 2 years. Also as previously mentioned, would love to know more about Pinterest competitions- how to find them etc.
Thank you so much for your blog. Keep up the good work 🙂 x

Happy 5 th blogaversary I like just the general post about comping and the tips to maybe improve on the effort comps so I would say keep up the good work because I love reading this blog 🙂
I’d like some tips on clever and creative caption writing as mine sometimes make me cringe!
I think I’ve only ever won one caption competition! They’re not my favourite – but perhaps this year I can give them a go and try and work out how to get lucky with them!
more about writing captions i always get stuck on them
how to search to find you’re a winner. i really struggle with this
Have you used Social Searcher Claire? http://www.superlucky.co.uk/2013/12/finding-wins-with-social-searcher.html
I really appreciate technical help with new technology comps such as pinterest, twitter and instagram. Its only because of your help and enthusiasm for these types of comp that I’ve come into rhe 21st century and given them a go! Thanks : )
would like to find more info on pinterest competitions ,seems hard to find or hard to enter for me
Creative comp round-ups and tips on how to catch the judge’s eye without being a high-tech, green screen, film producing pro!
I’d really like to see a blog on comps that require effort for example pictures or poems and how you get inspiration for these 🙂
I’d really like an insight to your daily routine. I always plan to enter to many comps but get in a jumble and don’t enter half as many as I’s like to. I guess its organisation.

I try to win power tools but they always seem to be won by women, I want to read about how to win these without cheating by saying I am a woman or changing gender!
That’s a great one Steve! I would definitely say video or photo comps are the way to go – very few men enter and if you do a humorous entry you’ll have a great chance of being picked!
How to tackle effort writing comps….where to start, inspiration, key tops etc.
I love to create new recipes & enter recipe comps so would love to hear if you find any that I might otherwise have missed or if you can give me tips on how to search for them
I’d like to see information on creative comps and where to look to find them apart from under ‘skill based’ on the site. I often see winners and think ‘how didn’t I see that?’ So any advice in that would be fantastic, thanks.
Hi Di, congratulation on your 5th anniversary!
For me, I’d like to see a list of genuine websites that compers can go to for the purpose of looking for various competitions to enter. Many a times I come across competitions, but I’m reluctant to enter them because I’m worried they’re not genuine- particularly where they require a lot of personal information- such as postal address etc. I don’t mind providing my personal details where I know the competition is genuine, but how can you really know if a competition is genuine?
I think seeing personal blog posts on your blog linking to other genuine sites and competitions that compers can enter will be reassuring for many compers.
Thank you!
I’d like to learn more about Instagram it baffles me!
I would love to see interviews with other compers 🙂
a blog about comping through the ages..i know that most do comps online now, but the history of it would be good how far back can we trace them i know i used to have a magazine delivered through the post in the early 80’s but were people comping a lot in the 60’s etc. think it would be interesting to see, think my grandma used to buy titbits and they had a few competitions in them.. just a thought..
Congrats on your 5th blog birthday. You always seem to find such good creative comps…i’d love to know how you find them. I also loved the blog you did last year that was something along the lines of …..If i didn’t enter comps then this year i wouldn’t have………… and then you listed all the crazy things you’d done and people you’d met because of comping. (PS when i look back through my year some of the best fun i’ve had hasn’t resulted in a win but i do have a great photo to look back at.
Keep up the great work. We love you !!!!
I fancy having a go at some of the more creative comps that you seem to excel in, but don’t know where to find them. Some tips detailing places to start searching would be great
How to target & find specific prizes, for instance to win all the bits to make a great weekend away – the hotel, meals, activities, etc. And then persuade the relevant PR companies to actually let you take the prizes when you want to!
I remember you posting this on my Facebook page last year Lorraine and I definitely want to bring a blog post together along those lines – I’ll make it a challenge to win a London weekend and then write about how I did it!
All of the above, but love to hear about other peoples wins and all those creative comps.
I love seeing your creative comp entries and seeing your round-ups so that we can all have a go too !
I would like to hear about how to deal with prizes not being fulfilled in the most efficient, friendly (at least to start with) & effective way. thanks
Hi Di, I love reading your posts and following you. You are such an inspiration. I would love to hear about more about your comping routine. How about a Day in the Life of Di, or even a week. How does your husband feel about it all and is he happy to go along with it. Where do you get your ideas from and what do you think will be the next big thing in comping? Also, any tips for photos in comps. Yours are great and I suspect a secret weapon. P.S. good luck with Team Honk.
Firstly i would like to say i enjoy reading everything you write! you have really kept me going through the dry spells by inspiring me to carry on and not to give up. i really enjoyed your recent post on your creative comp wins and found them really amusing and inventive. i would love some advice on where to find low entry and creative competitions because it does become a bit tedious just entering you address all the time i think i need to start using the old noggin a bit more and try for better prizes. you also inspired me to create a pinterest account and set up my own wishlist and i am now in the process of creating my spread sheet for all this years wins!! (wishful thinking) although i have already had 6 wins this month! 😀
it’s probably been covered to death but I would love to get more hints and tips on slogan writing. I usually avoid these like the plague because I never seem to come up with anything witty or unique. I love reading about all your wins and am always secretly envious of you but know it’s because you put the effort in and deserve to win them 🙂 Loved the spreadsheet idea and have already started on mine, lucky enough to get a couple of wins on already but would love to see it grow
i actually pick your emails out and make time to read them as there is always something to learn about entering competitions, i have so far this year learn’t how to make a spreadsheet for all my wins and its great!! so a big thank you for that. i love reading about your creative comps and all you fab wins, it keeps me going in dry spells as i know its all about effort too. my new years resolution this year with comping is to spend more time entering for prizes i really want.
i would like to see a before, during and after for a creative competition, how you got the idea, how you made the idea real and did you win etc
I have felt so inspired since signing up to the blog. I would love to learn more about using instagram and youtube for comps. I am also a pin it to win it newbie but struggle to find these types of comps. Loved the spreadsheet and have entered my first win of 2014 on it (a twitter win!). Thanks x
I love your tips for entering creative comps and I’d love more info about where to find them as I seem to miss these ones, as well as any tips you have for thinking outside the box, so to speak. (Also wanted to say thanks for posting about Google Drive the other day as I have swapped to this from my previous software and I love that I can quickly access it from my laptop or tablet. I had no idea it even existed!)
How to comp less and win more, how to streamline my comping entries and not try and enter everything and anything, thanks
I’d love to know how you sniff out the low entry comps and I love hearing about the the ones to steer clear of. Thanks for all the guidance so far – I’m hoping for my first biggy win this Winter!
How to find the more obscure competitions that few people enter
I would like to know more about how you find creative competitions.
some tips on finding effort competitions!
would love some tips on tiebreakers or photo comps .perhaps a help with twitter also
Congrats on your blogaversary x

Happy blog adversary! I like the creative comps and would like some pointers. What do do and not to do. Plus does asking if winner has been chosen affect your chances?
I’d love to read about things that people win, I just love to see that comping does work and seeing people win great items 🙂
I would like to start doing some postal competitions so some more information on how to find and enter these would be good. I saw a programne where people said they used coloured envelopes to get noticed but sometimes the cost of stamps out weighed the rrp of prizes won.
I love looking back at your posts when you have a had a comping day out, whether is be a day looking for competitions or a day when you have used lots of wins up, I would love to see more of these as they really inspire me. Happy Blogaversary Di !
I’d like to know how you find so many good creative kids competitions and also to see those posts at half-term, as well as main school holiday periods please.
My son starts school this year so I’ll definitely be more tuned in to when the kids holidays are – and how important it is to keep them entertained! The only problem I have is that he HATES colouring, so it’s cooking and craft comps all the way! 😀
I love all the sorting out of dodgy promoters, and I love reading about people’s wins as it does confirm that people do really win – even if you yourself are going thru a dry spell despite comping for what seems like hours!
I love to hear about the murky side of comping and having a chuckle at those comps that go wrong or rubbish prizes 😉 Maybe it makes me feel better for not winning much 🙂
I think those are the posts I like writing most, although they do take me AGES and once I did get a Cease & Desist notice from one of the cheaters I outed, so I need to be careful! Whoops!
Yikes!
My favourite posts are the ones with a long list of creative comps. It gives me inspiration and I can pick whichever I want to get involved.
I love these too! Must ensure I post at least one round up of creative comps every month – it’s much quicker to do if I use a linky so I’ll try that!
That would be brilliant Di!!! And as I had a nice WEM from a photo comp this morning, it gave me a boost to enter more creative ones!!!
I’m sure you’ve written about it before, but comping etiquette seems to be an issue lately. I see a lot of comps end completely above board, and people throwing a strop that they weren’t chosen! Perhaps when the XBoxOne and PS4 comps die down, we’ll see less of it.
I would love some tips on how to search and find creative comps, whats the best way to do it? (google, twitter?) Its the one thing that I am not very good at doing but I would like to do more of.
I would like more Youtube video’s plus any tip’s to do with Facebook/Twitter/Instagram etc. I especially liked your last video about spreadsheet’s on Google Drive!
Hints & tips, your blog has found a few wins I hadn’t spotted and they were for great things!! I like the community that comes with this blog so maybe a find a comping friend (if this already exists I apologise, I’ve not seen anything) A lot of comps need to refer or tag a friend,, well I don’t have no comping buddies as yet so that would be nice.
Gillian, could you add me as a Facebook friend and we’ll get you up and running? http://www.facebook.com/dicoke
More tips and hints would be great thanks
This is my favourite blog to read for sure, love all your creative inspiration and ideas that you have. I still get confused with how to look up different creative comps on my own but perhaps it may be a little different here in Australia and we don’t have as many… I am starting to enter more photography competitions now though and completed my wishlist for this year so fingers crossed 🙂 Good luck to you Di and hope you have many, many exciting wins this year.
I’d love to know your daily comping routine and what type of competition you studiously avoid or make sure to enter regularly.
I would love to know where you buy all your props for your crazy photo/video submissions!
