And the prizes keep on coming…

After my magnificent prize-a-day May I wasn’t expecting too much of June, but in the last week I’ve managed to win some excellent prizes!

First of all, some amazing green nail polish from the Stella Big Beauty Giveaway at the Telegraph website. I’m not exaggerating when I say you are GUARANTEED to win at least one prize if you enter all the draws. Every two hours from 9am – 7pm there are 200 prizes – five prize draws a day for 14 days. 14,000 prizes in total – and you can win multiple prizes!

I’m making life easier for you by posting a photo of the prize with a link to the Stella entry form every two hours on The PrizeFinder Facebook page. If you don’t want to miss out, my top tip is to choose ‘Get Notifications’ from the PrizeFinder cover photo drop-down menu – you can do this on any page you Like, or any of your friends’ profiles, and it ensures you don’t miss any of their posts.

Then, I won £100 cash by completing a survey from Wagamama. I must admit, I don’t usually do surveys that land in my inbox but I do love Wagamama and after starting it, I could see it was the kind of detailed survey that most wouldn’t bother to complete. They were extra efficient and paid the cash into my PayPal account two days after the winning email!

Next I found out I was a runner up in the Tots100 Hoops & Crosses lunchbox competition. This had a lot of good entries, as it was open to everybody (not just Tots100 bloggers). Our lunchbox was an underwater theme – I boiled my pasta with some red cabbage to colour it bluey-purple, then added blanched samphire for seaweed and an octopus hotdog with eyes and mouth made from olives! Finally, a couple of carrot goldfish completed the scene. We won £100 Amazon vouchers for third prize – check out all the other winning lunchboxes here and make sure you bookmark the Tots blog as they run some fab creative comps.

And yesterday I had three wins! The first was a set of kitchen utensils from the Kikkoman instant win competition. To enter this, you need to buy a bottle of Kikkoman sauce with the promotional neck collar – keep your receipt safe, then enter the unique code from the collar at www.kikkoman-promotion.co.uk – this closes on 30th June. If you win, you’ll need to post off the neck collar plus receipt.

Next up was a winning email from Currys PC World to say I’d won a fridge-freezer in their ‘Samsung Eco Challenge’ photo competition. You had to upload a photo showing how you saved energy at home, so Rob and I did a candlelit Scrabble photoshoot. Luckily Rob asked for a remote control for the camera for Christmas, and I’m starting to wonder how I ever did my comp entries without one! A fridge-freezer was on my ‘must win’ list for our new house so I’m super chuffed.

Something I’ve learnt from entering and winning recent photo competitions is that it’s a good idea to try and imagine your photo as a square. You might be uploading it to Instagram, or it might be going onto a Facebook app where it’s cropped. Facebook timelines are designed to view photos as square, and so are Smartphones! Set up your props in the centre of the frame and try not to have too much going on at the edges.

Another tip – take your photo on your best digital camera, then upload to your computer and email it to yourself. You can then save it into your phone’s photo gallery and use Instagram to add effects to it.

And finally, late afternoon yesterday I had a call from my local newspaper to say I’d won £250 to spend at Maplin in their Fathers Day comp – this was a 50p text comp with five prizes, which my friend Mo emailed to our comping club. Thanks Mo!

Local comps like this – even if you have to pay for a text or a stamp – are well worth doing because entry numbers will be small, particularly with newspaper circulation much lower than it used to be.

Best of luck for June everyone – keep on winning!
