Blossom Hill Friendship Fridays Instagram competition

Blossom Hill are running a lovely ‘Friendship Fridays’ promotion – every Friday until 19th June, 150 lucky entrants will win a bouquet of flowers and a bottle of Blossom Hill Gin Fizz wine, plus the same prize for their nominated friend. The winners will also get access to a special online flower arranging workshop. In total that’s 750 pairs of winners – a really generous competition!

How to enter

Entrants need to upload a photo taken of them and their friend to Instagram as a public post – this competition isn’t running on any other social media. But don’t do it yet! The weekly competition entry period opens for 24 hours every Wednesday at noon and only the first 150 entries will win a prize.

You can be organised though – set up your Instagram post now, then save it as a draft ready to post on Wednesday. To save an Instagram draft, just go through the usual process of uploading, editing, adding filters, and a caption – then instead of tapping Share, tap the back arrow at the top of the screen a couple of times. You’ll see a message offering you the options to Discard your post or to Save Draft (see my screenshots below). Tap to save a draft, then Cancel the post!

Then, wait for Blossom Hill to upload the competition post to their Instagram feed on a Wednesday (set your phone alarm for Wednesday just before 12 noon!), and tap the plus sign as usual to upload a photo – you should see your photo under the Drafts heading on screen. Tap to open it, and it’s there with the caption ready to post!

When writing your caption there are a few things you need to remember:

  • tag @blossomhill
  • use the hashtag #TogetherLetsBlossom
  • explain the story behind the photo of you and your friend, and include a supportive or appreciative comment about them
  • tagging your friend in the caption is optional!

T&Cs do state that the photo must not have been published previously or won a prize in another competition – this may be tricky if you don’t have many photos to use, but perhaps you could crop/rotate your photo and add a filter to it to ensure it’s not exactly the same! Terms also state that it’s one entry per person – but on Instagram it does say to ‘ keep trying’ if you don’t win, so I assume this means you can enter once a week until you win.

Winners are notified by an Instagram Direct Message from @BlossomHill on Thursday afternoon, and they must reply with full name, address, email and phone number for themselves and also their friend within 24 hours to claim the prize. Winners can also add a gift message for the delivery to their friend, and the prize bouquet and wine should arrive within a week. The online flower arranging workshops are running on Fridays.

If you don’t reply to the winning DM within 24 hours, your prize will be forfeited – so please make sure you check your messages regularly and also follow the @blossomhill account.

The competition is open to UK residents aged 18 or over – you can find the full terms and conditions at www.blossomhill.com. Good luck!
