Doing a PIS in Netto

Today I enjoyed one of my regular outings with Steve Middleton, more commonly known as Smid, the editor of Compers News and Prize Draw Winner magazines (see my post Essential Reading for Compers). Unusually for a comper, Steve doesn’t drive (which means he’ll never bag everybody’s dream prize of a shiny new car!) but this means I can offer my taxi service in return for his entry forms, insider knowledge and Extra Strong mints.

Today’s jaunt took us up north to Newark, specifically to do a PIS in Netto, as we compers so affectionately refer to the act of ‘Posting In Store’. It’s Netto’s 19th birthday and they’re giving away a whole load of fabulous prizes including a car, so either get down to your local store or print off the entry forms at http://www.netto-offers.co.uk/birthday-party/ and drop them off in store by 3rd October. On arrival at Netto, we were delighted to see not one but two prize draw boxes (quite often there’s none to be seen at all!) so let’s hope at least one of these entries is lucky!

Whilst in Newark we also popped into Waitrose where I spotted a nice competition on The Village Bakery products – win £250 cash to make someone smile. Round the corner at Morrisons I bought a 7 pack of Hula Hoops and entered their competition to win one of ten prizes of £1000 Morrisons vouchers by texting SHOP to 82100 (this one finishes on 10th October) – remember to keep your receipt as you’ll need it if you’re a lucky winner! I also bought a few packets of Walkers crisps to enter their WIN £10 Every Day It Rains promotion. At one point I lost Smid (probably in the booze aisle) and realised baby boy had started chewing a copy of Caddyshack on DVD that he’d taken off a display… at the bargain price of £3 I couldn’t resist buying it as it’s one of my favourite movies!

Back home again I was rather excited to see a tweet from @cottages4u to let me know I’d won their Friday Twitter competition, although I have no idea what I’ve won! I also had a nice message from ‘Cross The Pond blog, I’ve won the £30 CSN voucher giveaway that I listed in Friday’s blog comp round up. And as if that wasn’t exciting enough, I also had a message from Indesit – I won a £50 Office voucher in their ‘best party tunes’ competition for my suggestion of ‘Ghostbusters’. It’s worth becoming a fan of the Indesit Facebook page in order to enter their fab Party Launderette competition to win £2000 of appliances too!

…all in all a rather splendid day!
