Fun creative competitions for summer 2020
I’m a big fan of creative comping. I love an excuse to do something a bit different – trying a new recipe or inventing a cocktail, wearing a random fancy dress outfit, taking selfies or making daft videos for Instagram or TikTok with my son. As well as livening up the the coronavirus lockdown for those of us at home, creative competitions also give you a much better chance of winning a prize!
Most compers don’t go near ‘effort’ comps, which means they have far less entries than a simple prize draw – look out for photo or video comps with multiple daily, weekly or monthly prizes for the best chance to win. You don’t always need to produce the most creative, artistic or entertaining entry either – a lot of creative comps are random draws.
I’ve shared some of my current favourite creative comps below, hopefully you’ll be inspired to have a go at some of them this summer!
Win £2,000 British Airways voucher
Heart have some great creative competitions, and their summer British Airways promotion is no exception. To enter ‘Trade it for take off’ you need to say in less than 300 characters what part of lockdown you would trade in for a holiday! There were weekly judged winners until 3 September 2020, but you can continue to enter until 4 October 2020, when one final winner will be chosen at random. The prize is £2,000 worth of British Airways vouchers. Entries will be judged on the criteria of being funny, feel-good and family-friendly! Enter on the Heart website.
Weetos are giving away nine prizes of £500 in a fun competition! To enter, get creative with your Weetos or Weetos box in a sporting environment. Then email a photo to email@example.com or send by post to Weetos Competition, c/o Tynan D’Arcy Ltd, Arundel House, 1 Farm Yard, Windsor, Berks, SL4 1QL. Entries will be judged on originality and creativity, interest and entertainment, and should have a strong link with a sporting environment or activity. Note that according to T&Cs there should NOT be people in the photograph! The details are on promotional packs in store, and at www.weetabixfoodcompany.co.uk/summer-of-sport – closing date is 1 October 2020.
Let me know in the comments if you spot any more fun creative projects for the summer – and good luck!
Don’t forget to check my post for creative kids competitions too, which I’m regularly updating with new comps!
