Macfarlane Packaging Unboxing Survey – win a £250 shopping voucher!

If there’s anyone out there who loves unboxing as much as I do, it must be Macfarlane Packaging! Macfarlane is the UK’s leading packaging distributor and they’re on a mission to ensure your online shopping ends with a good unboxing experience.

Every year, Macfarlane Packaging host a survey about packaging on their website, inviting people to share their good and bad experiences. This year five lucky survey respondents will win prizes, including a £250 One4All Shopping voucher and a pair of Apple Airpods.

I’m sure most SuperLucky readers know that my son and I do a lot of unboxing – and I receive an awful lot of non-recyclable packaging in those parcels! From huge cardboard boxes filled with bubble wrap to protect a bottle of shampoo, to the branded merchandise that’s like playing pass the parcel because of the multiple layers of packaging. Much as I love to open a surprise parcel, I feel there’s too much tape and plastic used in a lot of the deliveries I receive.

The Macfarlane Unboxing survey is designed to get an idea of the type of packaging people receive in the post when they make online purchases, and how efficient and environmentally friendly it is. In previous years the survey has revealed that people want to receive their purchases in packaging that’s easy to open, easy to return and kind to the environment – so ideally it should be fully recyclable. Personally, I’ve noticed that a lot more of my purchases and prizes have been send in cardboard or paper packaging rather than padded envelopes this year. Having said that, check out the aftermath of my most recent prize unboxing session picture below – an awful lot of bubble wrap, plus tissue paper and ribbons!

The prizes on offer

This year there are five fabulous prizes up for grabs – winners will be selected at random from everyone who completes the survey.

  • £250 One4All Shopping voucher (or you can donate all or a portion of this to a charity of your choice)
  • Apple Airpods with Charging case worth £159
  • £100 Spabreaks.com Gift Card
  • The Sustainable Foodie Gift Box from Social Stories worth £46
  • Bottle of Veuve Cliquot Yellow Label Champagne

How to enter the prize draw

In order to enter the prize draw, you will need to answer the survey questions and most importantly, at the end of the survey you will need to upload a photo of an item you have purchased online.

Note that items from auction sites or Amazon are not valid – and competition prizes are only valid if they’ve been sent directly from a retailer, rather than a fulfilment or marketing agency. So for example, if you won an iPhone with Lambrini recently, they ordered the prizes from AO.com so that would be a valid item.

  • Complete the Unboxing survey here – you will need details of what you bought, where you bought it from, and details of how it was packaged
  • At the end of the survey, you’ll need to upload a photo of the packaging
  • Add your name and email address, and submit!

Make sure you get your entry in by 22 August 2021 – you can enter multiple times, completing a new survey for each package you receive (as long as it’s from a different retailer). Each new survey and photo completed is another entry into the prize draw.

The prize draw is open to all UK residents aged 18 and above.

Below is a parcel I received recently which is ideal to use for the survey – it’s a big bottle of fire retardent fluid from Rawlins.co.uk, and I was impressed with their use of torn cardboard as packaging rather than plastic bubblewrap!

Hello Di – it says you can fill in this survey multiple times, which I’d like to as I think it’s a great thing to feedback on, but do multiple entries mean multiple entries to the prize draw or just Additional feedback? I couldn’t tell from the t&c’s. Many thanks 🙂
