Making a Cork Buddy: Wineweaver competition

I’m a HUGE fan of wine, so when I heard about Wineweaver’s fun Cork Buddy competition I was keen to knock back a few bottles. As well as offering a Wineweaver goody bag as the prize for the finest buddy, they are also donating a percentage of their October online sales to the Breast Cancer Foundation. Depending how many entries they get to the competition, this could be up to 20% so it’s a great comp to get involved with.

To enter – email your cork buddy to contact@wineweaver.com or tweet it to @wineweaver with the #corkbuddy hashtag before 31st October 2013.

Of course – there is a small problem: most wines seem to be screw top these days. Tesco Finest Gavi was all I could find with a cork in our local shop – but luckily I had a rummage in my memento box and found 3 corks from favourite bodegas I visited in Argentina. Perfect!

Ryland and I set to work creating our cork buddies with a Halloween theme, using pom pons, googly eyes, pipe cleaners and fun fur!

And the finished result…. pretty cute Halloween critters I reckon!

Please do have a go at this competition if you have time – it’s a lovely creative idea for a good cause. And while the kids are kept busy, you can have a nice drop of vino! Find all the details at www.wineweaver.com/corkbuddy-competition – good luck!
