Win prizes with Old Speckled Hen

It seems to be the season for alcoholic on-pack promotions! I featured Carling, Heineken, Crabbies and Adnams in my recent ‘Di’s Prize Buys’ YouTube video – and since then I’ve spotted promotions on Brancott Estate Wine and now, Old Speckled Hen!

It looks like the Old Speckled Hen Hunt may now be an annual promotion, for 2016 there are four different ways to win prizes. I bought promotional bottles in my local Tesco.

£1000 instant win

25 promotional bottle caps have a hen printed under them – if you find one, you can claim £1000 by inputting the code at www.facebook.com/OldSpeckledHen – you MUST keep the cap to claim!

Facebook game/instant win promotion

This promotion has 1243 prizes to be won instantly online too – 5 x £1,000, 4 x Barbour Jackets, 4 x Pairs of Hunter Wellies, 10 x Old Speckled Hen Mini-Fridges, 10 x Chocolate Experiences, 10 x Old Speckled Hen Basket Hampers, 400 x Old Speckled Hen Pint Glasses, 400 x Old Speckled Hen Bottle Openers and 400 x Old Speckled Hen Egg Cups.

To enter the instant win online, enter the barcode from a promotional bottle (or a code from a pump clip in a bar or pub) on the Facebook app at www.facebook.com/OldSpeckledHen.

Click on three objects in the scene, and you’ll find out if you’ve won. It’s a winning moments promotion, so try entering very early in the morning – I won an eggcup at 6.30am today!

T&Cs are on the Facebook app and do state one entry per purchase, and that you should retain the promotional packaging (although if you find a pump code I’m guessing you can continue to enter with that without any proof of purchase). Closing date for online game entries is 24 April 2016 but you can claim on a winning cap until 22 May 2016.

Hunt for a Hen – prize draw & experiential event

The Old Speckled Hen inflatable pub is visiting UK locations and you have the chance to win £1000 if you visit and #huntforthehen. Three clues a week are posted on the Facebook page – if you guess the correct destination in a comment you’ll be entered in a prize draw to win beer for a year. Plus if you go and visit the pub at the location at the end of the week you have the chance to ‘hunt for a hen’ and win £1000 (I have no idea what this entails!). The first week was Southampton and this week the clues suggest it might be in London!
