My Perfect Beach Holiday

I love beaches. I’m lucky enough to live near a beach, and I adore spending holidays at the beach. So when I heard On the Beach were running a bloggers Pinterest competition to win £1000 to spend on a beach getaway, I hopped into a deckchair to start dreaming…

Now, beautiful beaches must be one of the most popular Pinterest board themes – so I decided to make mine a bit more specific. One of life’s great free pleasures is enjoying the sunset on a beach, and so I’ve created a Sunset Beach board! It’s all the beaches I love – the ones I’ve been lucky enough to visit (#favouritebeach), and the ones I dream of visiting (#futurebeach).

My favourite beaches aren’t necessarily famous holiday destinations, but also exciting, unusual and deserted beaches: New Zealand, Vancouver Island, Ipanema, Miyajima… beaches that I’ve walked on barefoot and loved!

And as for San Sebastian in Spain – Rob proposed to me on a balcony looking at this beautiful beach…

And how could I leave out the beaches I spend most of my time on – Brighton and Porthcawl? I’ve enjoyed some wonderful happy days with my family on the sand and pebbles, and exploring rockpools.

My future beaches are the ones I dream of visiting – some close to home, others far away. This ‘hand’ sculpture at Punta del Este in Uruguay would be amazing to see.

…and although it would be darn chilly, Iceland has some striking beaches too.

If I’m lucky enough to win the voucher, I’ll be whisking the family off to a beautiful Spanish island – to watch sunsets on the beach of course!

This is a competition entry – find out more details here (deadline has been extended to 5th September 2014).
