Love football? Love comps!
If you love football then you’re in luck. There are lots of footy related prize draws and competitions about – and they usually don’t get that many entries, as most compers aren’t big football fans!
Personally, I love football – one of my first prizes was a Birmingham City FC season ticket. Truth be told, it was for a particularly crap season, but it was a great bonding experience to go along with my Dad to the games! I’ve also won a VIP Champions League Final trip for my Mum and Dad, tickets to see Birmingham win the Carling Cup Final – and a once-in-a-lifetime trip for my hubby to play football with Tony Adams & Robert Pires in Milan last year, as well as several trips to see Arsenal!
Even if you don’t like football, maybe you have a husband or son who does? Winning them tickets to a game is a win-win situation – they enjoy a free game of footy, and you get a few free guilt-free hours to spend comping!
These two current promotions have a HUGE number of prizes, so are well worth entering.
Win 150 pairs of Premier League tickets every week
Every Tuesday, Barclays give away a whopping 150 pairs of tickets to that week’s Premier League games – you specify the game you want to attend when you enter at www.youarefootball.barclays.co.uk. Set a reminder in your phone every Tuesday so you don’t forget to enter!
Win 1000 footballs every day
Capital One are giving away 1000 junior size footballs every day – to enter, go to their Facebook app and complete your details on the entry form – this closes on 31st October 2014, enter once and you’re in every draw. If you don’t win a ball in this one – I’ll eat my hat!

Win the chance to play in the England fan team!
Here’s a comp that takes a bit more effort, with fifteen winners getting the chance to play in the ‘England Fans Team’ against Scotland, with a pair of tickets to the International Scotland v England match at Celtic Park, both on the 18th November 2014. Winners can take a guest and travel from London to Glasgow is included. Closing date for this one is 3rd November 2014 – all the information is at www.vauxhallfootball.co.uk and you need to enter by stating your top England moment, although the T&Cs do say winners are drawn at random (you’d hope they would take preferred position into account – a team of 11 goalies wouldn’t do too well!).
If playing an actual match is a step too far, you can win tickets to watch England v Slovenia at Wembley on 15th November 2014 in an easy prize draw on the same site – enter at www.vauxhallfootball.co.uk/england/Competition/Enter/136 by 31st October 2014.
Tips
If you are a big footy fan, make sure to keep an eye on social media accounts and websites for the League, Cup and Team sponsors – Sky Bet, Capital One, Barclays, Vauxhall, Mastercard, Nissan, Sony etc. so you don’t miss your chance to win match tickets. You’ll also see promotions on pack and in-store – Heineken give away Champions League prizes, and Budweiser give away World Cup trips!
Enrolling your child into the junior supporters club is a good idea – Ryland has joined Junior Gunners and they run lots of exclusive promotions online, in the programmes and in the club magazine. And if you’re a grown up Gooner, the Indesit Facebook page gives away lots of Arsenal tickets.
Local radio stations usually give away tickets to Home games (at least, they do in Nottingham and Brighton!) so tune in for your chance to win those too!
If you win in any of these comps, do let me know – good luck!

I’ve won a fair few footie comps too. The only ones I actually used were Chelsea vs Man Utd in 2008 I think. I took my wife as there was an overnight stay in London as part of the prize, otherwise she wouldn’t have wanted to come.
I won hospitality tickets for a Spurs game a few years ago which I gave to my friend who’s a huge Spurs fan, I also won hospitality tickets for Arsenal last year, which I gave to my nephew who’s a huge Arsenal fan!
As a Swindon fan there aren’t too many competitions knocking about, although I have won a pair of tickets to a home game (which I gave to friends as I already had a season ticket), oh, and an official match ball from when they won League Two a couple of years ago, which i’ve still got and not sure what to do with, as I don’t want to get rid of it and I don’t want to play with it, so it’s just sat around doing nothing! 🙂
I won FA Cup final tickets to see my beloved Arsenal against Hull at Wembley! I would never have been able to afford (…or had even been able to obtain!) those tickets. One of my best/favourite prizes I’ve won! x
Couldn’t agree more – as a football fan and comper, it’s brilliant for me.
Last season I won tickets to the League Cup Semi-final at Man City, then also won tickets to the final itself. This season I’ve won a pair of Burnley tickets in Barclays Tickets Tuesday (but gave them to a friend as I’m already a season ticket holder) and I’ve also won a pair of Accrington Stanley season tickets (who are my second team).
Another Twitter/Facebook account to follow is ‘Shoot Magazine’ as they run many comps but often have less than 30 entries!
Great tip about Shoot mag Matt! I see Kick magazine has a page too, so I’ve liked that one just in case!
