SuperLucky Stories 2015: best of the rest!
Back in December I shared my favourite comping successes and asked readers to share their own winning entries. This is the final of four blog posts showcasing the creative entries that won prizes for SuperLucky readers – scroll to the end to find out who won a £50 Amazon voucher in the prize draw!
I love hearing about Kate‘s unusual prizes, and last year she won a great prize with British Airways and Mashable. Her ‘Travity’ idea for innovations in air travel was one of the five winners. “As part of my prize, I featured in an article on Mashable and flew to Austin Texas in Business Class, stayed at the Four Seasons, went to a music festival and saw innovative products and companies. It was my dream trip, and something that will lead me to the final goal – a career change.”

Last year I shared a rather unusual competition to count the slugs and snails in your garden! Ryland and I had lots of fun taking photos, and so did SuperLucky reader Jose who won two £150 prizes with her photos – ewwwww! “I had a look around my garden and found a small slug on my dustbin lid which I photographed next to a penny as stated in the rules. I spent a few hours photographing a large snail on bushes, and managed to find a really weird slug under some plants at the bottom of the garden. I was delighted to win two categories, the smallest slug and the weirdest slug. I found out that I was the only entry in the weirdest category so I had to win!”

Quick Mobile Fix wanted photos of your broken phone, and Neill picked up a brand new iPhone 5 with this simple and clever photo of his poorly mobile! His advice? “Even if you don’t have the time (or resources) for an exquisite entry, try anyway!”

On a similar theme – something that needs fixing! – Amy‘s photo at an opportune moment won her vouchers for a new Joyou bathroom. “When the ceiling collapsed in our old bathroom I made sure to take a couple of pics as I was sure they would come in handy for a comp somewhere along the line! And they sure did, I entered the #TagYourTub competition that I’d found out about through Compers News where you had to send a photo of your old bathroom and explain why you should win, I’m delighted to say that I was chosen as the winner and bagged £750 of vouchers for JOYOU bathrooms online store!”

Clara won £500 Land’s End vouchers with this lovely denim inspired mood board.

Diane won a new laptop with this ditty on the Currys page:
I first look in the morning
with coffee in my hand
to see what’s going on
in Facebook & Twitter land.
Then lunch time it goes on again,
but this time it’s for Skype
to chat with my daughter in Australia
and my tears I do wipe…
It’s 5 years since she’s lived away
and as hard as it can be
I’m able to cope with the distance
because of this technology!
Kate won a hotel stay in the monthly Bespoke Hotels caption competition:

Joy‘s beautiful Christmas tree and fireplace won her a £200 hamper from Sudocrem.

Shelley won the most incredible prize from Huawei Phones last year in a tiebreaker competition. “They were launching a new phone and had a competition where we had to tell them our dream experience. I have always been a bit of an adrenaline junkie, and love rollercoasters, so my dream experience was to travel the world, visiting the top 20 biggest, best and fastest rollercoasters. It totally went out of my head and then 3 months later I received a very exciting email, saying that my entry had been picked as the winner from a panel of judges! I won my experience which has a budget of £10,000, with all my travel, accommodation and food payed for. It didn’t sink in for weeks and I probably wont believe it’s real until I’m doing a loop-the-loop in a different country. Best. Win. Ever.”
Esther won £500 of High Street Vouchers and a posh suitcase when she won a Confused.com competition, pinning the item a WAG would take to the World Cup. “I posted an image of Chicken Fillet Breast Enhancers and I won! This came in really handy when I was redecorating my house.” (I presume Esther is referring to the vouchers, not the breast enhancers!)
Thanks to everyone who submitted photos and links for this year’s #SuperLuckyStories – I’m delighted to announce that the winner of a £50 Amazon voucher, picked at random from all entries, is Rebecca Morgan. Congratulations Rebecca – look out for an email from me soon!

Some really inspiring wins! I need Joy to come over and do my living room at Christmas 🙂
