SuperLucky Stories 2015: selfies & movies

Thanks for the great feedback on the new set of Superlucky Stories – it’s brilliant to be able to feature your successes here on the blog! This is the third of four blog posts showcasing the fantastic creative entries that won prizes for SuperLucky readers – and in the final post next week I’ll announce which of you won a £50 Amazon voucher in my prize draw!

Selfie competitions are still very popular for promoters, and it’s interesting to see how they create an original campaign around a selfie hashtag! Here are a few of your winning selfies, and you can check out my own selfie tips too!

Julia won a £500 voucher in the Dreams #Yawnie competition with this shot. “I was about to take a selfie with my newborn baby when she did a yawn, and I quickly thought ‘yawnie’! It wasn’t the best quality photo, so I didn’t think for a second it would win!”

And this lovely star pout was one of Paym‘s daily £250 cash winners. Julia’s tip? “Get some brand-relevance into creative entries where possible!”

Emma won a trip to Paris in the #IHGSelfie competition I shared on the blog. “The terms stated it could be any UK picture with no limit on entries so I sent lots. My winning entry wasn’t even a selfie but it just shows it’s good to check the terms!”

Emma was also one of the Perfume Shop‘s selfie winners. “It was a random draw but I like to think taking the picture at the store helped me win. It was very exciting to receive a mega box of scents!“

Milly at mini-adventures.com won a £50 Amazon voucher with her Halloween selfie – zombies are always a great theme for Halloween comps. “As someone who participates in zombie themed events (including scaring the living daylights out of paying customers as part of 2.8 Hours Later), this was an easy one for me!”

And what about the Sennheiser #earlove ear selfie competition – lots of SuperLucky readers won headphones, including Emma‘s hubby…

and this is a lovely winner from Kellie!

I know, it’s not a selfie – but I wanted to include this fab photo Sandra took of her hubby looking less than impressed with his old barbecue, for their #SadDadBBQ competition – she won herself a £400 BBQ from Ocado!

Rebecca tells me “I don’t have much luck in creative competitions!” – but she did win a crate of Bulmers with this inspired ‘colourful’ photo!

Sandra won a De’Longhi Multifry in a WeightWatchers Magazine photo competition:

And Vicky won a washer dryer with AO‘s live stream – “It was definitely worth looking silly for!”

And on to the movies….

There seemed to be less video comps around last year, but here are two great examples showing the big prizes you can win in video comps.

Laura won a fortnight’s holiday in Florida in the Virgin Holidays #FloridaUncovered competition – her lovely video entry features the family. “This was the holiday we had all dreamed of!” she said, and who can blame her!

Although new to video competitions, Anna had a go for a Karndean competition and won £1000 of Amazon vouchers. I love how she’s included a rhyming slogan in the video too – I might use that idea myself! “Karndean were looking for short videos about why you loved the product – and since we’d had the whole of our downstairs fitted with it recently, I had the perfect opportunity to enter! It was open across the USA, Canada, Eire and the UK and was a draw from all entries – so I was pretty lucky to win it. I don’t very often do video competitions, but it has certainly inspired me to do more in future!”

Nice work everybody! Look out for the final part of this year’s SuperLucky Stories next week…
