Weekend Winners
Welcome to another selection of winner’s stories courtesy of SuperLucky readers! This week I’m sharing some winning photographs…
Sarah had a successful year, and was particularly successful with photo competitions.
“One of my favourite wins from the year was a competition run by Sykes holiday cottages on Twitter. They asked you to share a photo of Cornwall with the hashtag #DiscoverCornwall. I live in Cornwall so had loads of pics to choose from (I take too many photos so creative comps are great for me!) and chose the attached which is a picture of my husband and son taken on a walk to St Ives. I won a £500 Sykes holiday cottage voucher which we will probably use to visit Scotland next year, a £150 food hamper from a local company, and a family pass to the Eden Project.”

Kellie found a low entry competition on Instagram and was rewarded!
“I won a huge £1000 of sports vouchers on Instagram from Kinder Sport with a photo of my nephew jumping for joy when we took him to Disney World! There weren’t many entries and 3 prizes of £1000!”

Cristin was quick off the mark for a Twitter competition.
“Toy Testers TV hosted a Twitter party – it was very fast paced as the prizes were being offered and closed within 10 minutes, and my heart was thumping! I won the second prize – it was announced as a Star Wars bundle which I assumed was the jigsaw pictured. The entry requirement was to take a picture with the theme ‘lightsabers’. I quickly jumped up and got my very co-operative husband to join me in a war of brush against mop and was jumping up and down (much to his amusement) when they tweeted that I won. What was more surprising was that when the prize arrived it included not just one jigsaw but 4! And two Star Wars board games! I would never have done anything like this before as I would have thought it was too embarrassing!”

Grainne won a recipe/photo competition with Pat the Baker bread.
“They were looking for your favourite sandwich filling and I put everything I had in my fridge into the sandwich and took my photo in the garden. I won an iPad Mini!”

Rebecca won a BoysenBerry KitchenAid mixer in the Bravissimo ‘cooking with berries’ competition.
“I entered my raspberry cream profiteroles and much to my surprise won the top prize. A few years ago I never even knew how to bake but spending so much time reading recipes and having a go at recipe competitions has enabled me to learn to cook and even win prizes with my cooking!”

I hope there’s plenty of inspiration there for your own comping projects. Join me next week for the final Weekend Winners – for now, at least!
