Weekend Winners
Sadly, we’ve reached the final weekly set of prize stories (for now!) I hope you’ve enjoyed them all and have found inspiration for your own comping. Thanks again to everyone who contributed their tales of success! Here’s a final set of happy winners….
Emma won a family holiday with Have Kids can travel.
“My proudest 2015 win was the PGL family holiday I won. Although not a creative comp, there was effort required as you could enter daily and I really wanted this one so I bookmarked in my dailies. Of course it was lovely to win the holiday overall, but the main reason I was proud was because it was very physically challenging, not things we would usually choose to do but we went for it and had a great time! With our kids being 13 and 6 it was great to do things they both got a lot out of. I’d definitely go again, great experience!”

Jo won an amazing trip to see the Railway Children in London… on the Northern Belle train!
“My favourite prize of 2015 was won with The Railway Children Show in a simple Twitter comp – the answer was steam locomotive and I happened to have a great photo of my son Herbie standing by the tracks in the countryside of Norfolk as one went by with the driver waving. I included this with the answer and was announced as the winner on YouTube by a member of the cast. I hadn’t really looked at the prize properly and only took in the tickets for the show. I knew the return train was included but thought it was just a standard train – you can imagine my delight when I realised it was going to more than likely be a once in a lifetime experience to travel in such style! I took a dear friend who had recently recovered from breast cancer, my sister and my amazing Aunty who has been a rock to me my brother and sister since our mum passed away when we were young. Being able to treat these special people in my life with something so amazing was the best prize of all!”

Sam won the perfect prize for Christmas on Facebook…
“My favourite win of 2015 just HAS to be the prize I won from the Three Mobile Network’s Facebook page. They wanted fans to nominate their loved ones to receive the “best birthday ever” (to make up for their birthday always being overshadowed by Christmas) in their #makeitright campaign. It had to be a December birthday, so I nominated my husband. On Christmas Eve I received the message to say he had been chosen as the winner of £2000 shopping vouchers! We were over the moon, my first big win! I was ever so pleased that they asked for confirmation of his birthday too, a company that does competitions RIGHT!”
Amanda had some lovely wins in 2015, including an Ugg photo competition she found here on SuperLucky.
“I entered a photo of me looking longingly out onto the mountains in Switzerland from the previous Summer. There was a bit of controversy over the winner as the rules stated that the entrant had to be in the photo and the first photo that was chosen was of a sunset. This was pointed out by eagle eyed compers and my photo chosen instead. I only found out about my win because I was back on the Superlucky website, saw that article again and clicked on the link. My name had been spelt incorrectly on the Facebook page, however I was able to claim my prize! I won £500 of UGG products from the Summer Collection as well as a gorgeous weekend break for two in a Forest Holidays Adults Hideaway, complete with hot tub and sunken bath. The prize included travel expenses and £300 of credit to spend at the Forest Holidays Resort. We (me and hubby) went in July and it was a fabulous experience.”

Kate is certainly one of the cleverest compers I know, and has a talent for winning invention type comps…
“I am a huge fan of competitions that want inventive ideas for new products and business concepts. One source of these competitions is hyvecrowd.net. A company had developed a next generation skateboard – the gridboard – and wanted new ideas for products that could go with it. All they wanted was a description of a product idea and a drawing. So, I submitted the basic design for an app for a gridboard community and described how it would work. I was one of the two winners of the competition and won my own bespoke gridboard!”

Wendy discovered comping after seeing my appearance on the BBC last year and had a wonderful experience with her very first win…
“I was sitting at home in August recovering from a bout of back pain when I saw Di on the BBC and googled for SuperLucky. I read the blog, entered a few daily comps and got a bit hooked on this hobby! I set up a new Twitter account, joined some comping FB groups – most helpfully Lucky Learners – and comped in the evenings or with my morning cups of tea – instead of playing games. Gradually I began to win. Not huge wins but interesting things! The first comp I won was a Twitter retweet comp to win 2 festival tickets for 1 day of a 3 day festival. The first night had Ed Sheeran playing and I asked the comp organisers if we could have tickets for that night. We did. I took my daughter who is 27 and has Down’s syndrome and we had an amazing time. We decided to go to the top of the hill for a better view. We both loved Tinie Tempah. Ed Sheeran had played just a few bars when someone in a sponsor’s t-shirt asked if we wanted wristbands to go in the golden circle. Oh yes! My daughter ended up right at the front barrier really close to the stage. It was the most amazing experience – I made sure I tweeted photos and thanks to the organisers! I would never have considered going to that kind of event but we are already planning to go again. Almost more valuable is being part of a supportive community of fellow compers – I’ve made some great online friends and I’ve discovered companies and products I didn’t know existed and found some great bargains!”
I think we can all relate to that Wendy – it’s the best hobby, and compers are a great bunch! Thanks again for reading these fabulous stories – I hope to be back with more winning stories later this year.

I’ve only just seen this, thanks for including me Di 🙂 Some fab wins here well done everyone. I love Forest Holidays who I discovered through a win too. Great stories x
