Weekend Winners

It’s time for some more Weekend Winners! Three SuperLucky readers got in touch to tell me about their successful entries in the Aussie Haircare ‘Aussome Winter Moment’ competition last year.

Aussie definitely put some thought into T&Cs for this one – entrants had to submit a photo of them doing something ‘aussome’ in winter – it was judged on individuality, winter theme, skill, fun and healthy looking hair!

Kirsten won a one night trip to The No Man’s Fort with her entry.

I tweeted Aussie with a photo of me ice skating in Princes Street Gardens in Edinburgh, and won one of the two runners up prizes – a one night trip to a luxury hotel on a Victorian fort out at sea in the middle of the Solent near Portsmouth!  The prize covers one night’s accommodation for two adults on No Mans Fort sharing a twin or double room, a rib transfer to the fort and £200 spending money.  I also won the Aussie Winter Miracle collection which will be left in my hotel room. I’m looking forward to a unique weekend away this summer and I’m going to take along the friend that took the winning photo of me!”

Beth also won a prize with her #AussomeMoment…

“I was actually on holiday in Paris when the comp was running and my hubby starting taking photos of me ‘trying’ to feed the birds, and I suddenly remembered the comp and looking through the pictures realised I had a suitable photo to the brief, so I entered it and won the limited edition Aussie Winter Miracle range! Shame I didn’t win the Iceland holiday but hey another step closer, and I have it on my competition bucket list for next year!”

And Davina saved her #AussomeMoment for the week when the Iceland trip was up for grabs…

I happened to have climbed a glacier on my honeymoon in New Zealand and thought I’d enter a pic from there as it seemed to tick all the boxes in the Ts & Cs. I entered on Twitter the week of the Iceland prize (I actually nearly forgot!) and on the day it closed I had a notification saying that they loved my entry, and that I had won something!  I spent some sleepless nights dreaming about what would happen if I had won the holiday to Iceland (I studied volcanology at university and have wanted to go there FOREVER). At work I was constantly checking my phone until that fateful moment when I received the e-mail saying I had won the holiday! What a fantastic feeling and I feel so proud that I won it with my picture!”

And talking of awesome moments, I love this Autumn photo by Tiff, who used one of my favourite comping tips – adding a photo to her tweet!

“My Autumn photo won me a fab prize of a hotel stay for a family including breakfast and an evening meal, and tickets to Jumpnation indoor trampoline park! The promoter said they loved the photo even though it was a RT competition – but I do try to add a photo if it’s a prize I really want!

I hope these fab photos have inspired you to get out and about to take some outdoor snaps of your own. See you next Saturday for more #weekendwinners!

Congratulations to the £50 voucher winner!

Chosen at random from all the SuperLucky Stories emails I received, the winner of a £50 Amazon voucher is Claire Tucker, who told me about her favourite 2015 prize:

My favourite win was Hobbit goodies from the film studio – one of my closest friends (and pub landlord!) is a huge Hobbit fan and when I gave them to him he was gobsmacked as you can’t buy these items anywhere. He has them on display in his house and hasn’t stopped talking about them for nine months. It’s nice to win – but nicer to give!”

Congratulations Claire!
