Weekend Winners
Welcome to another Weekend Winners post! This week, our prizewinning stories come from a rather crafty bunch of compers…
Maria is a Bulgarian SuperLucky fan, and impressed Algida (Bulgaria’s version of Wall’s ice cream!) with her lolly stick plane.
“We had to create projects using Algida ice-cream sticks. The prizes were 50 Lego Creator boxes and 25 bicycles and we won a Creator 303 piece set. Me and my son had so much fun while we were creating our stick projects!”

Sarah put her sewing skills to good use for a competition from Sew.co.uk…
“I found this competition by searching for the #win #halloween hashtags on Twitter. I had a good look at what others were creating and felt I could make something really good, as well as it helping with my sewing skills. I conjured up what I was going to make, cut everything out and over the course of the next 3 days I sewed my little heart out. Days went by with no announcement of winners… Then out of the blue, they followed me on Twitter and DM’ed me with that magical word “Congratulations!”. I received £100 worth of sewing patterns that I will put to good use over the next few months. This is my most special win this year as I put the effort in, I searched for the hashtags and well, I wanted to win and I did!”

Clare won a hamper of Soreen in their ‘fan of the month’ competition…
“I saw their ‘fan of the month’ pop up on my feed but there were already loads of entries, and some tough competition – a cute child and elderly lifelong Soreen addict! On a whim I went random, found I had both a Soreen and some silver food spray for cake decorating in the house, sprayed the loaf, stuck in on the mantelpiece and won a hamper of Soreen (which I love!). And I could still eat the silver loaf….though it did taste a bit weird!”

Neill entered a James Bond comp to draw a scene from the Casino Royale novel…
“My artwork is appalling, so I used Fuzzy Felt to illustrate the moment when Bond nearly drives into Vesper. There were about 14 entrants, and the promoter – out of sheer goodwill – decided to give a prize to all the runners up – a beautiful guide to the cover art of Ian Fleming’s books. The book is out of print and costs a fortune on the second-hand market, and my friend (a huge Bond fan) is going to love it!”
