Well Heeled
Earlier this week I won VIP tickets to last night’s Nelly High Heels Tour party at Coco Tang in Nottingham – the first 150 girls there won a free pair of shoes, but VIP tickets meant you could jump the queue. On arrival we were given a little card and told to choose our 3 favourite pairs from the perspex display cabinets dotted around the club – we entered our choices on a laptop and wait for one of our chosen pairs to arrive.
Oh boy – these were heels and a half! I’m an old fashioned girl – I like my stilettos, but a platform sole is just a little too dangerous when you like your wine as much as I do. So I opted for JILL – a pair of blue suede heels, and a couple of round toe black stilettos as back up.
Some of the girls there were half my age, twice my height (perhaps Reiss flats weren’t the best choice for a High Heels party) and choosing some real showstoppers! Ah, to be a teenager again…
The queue to input your details was super long, so Claire and I kept ourselves entertained with some cheeky cocktails – these Bakewell Tarts were quite a pair!
Just as I was about to make my way home, I heard a Swedish chap announcing a shoe design competition – well how could I resist? Three girls, head to head with 4 minutes on the clock to create a shoe using Nelly’s shoe designer. And the remarkable thing is, my cowhide platform wedge boot was judged the most stylish!
Initially I thought I’d won the actual pair of shoes but – whew! – it was an £80 voucher to spend at Nelly.com. Result! We also got a free goody bag (containing a teeny thong) so it was definitely a successful night. If you fancy going along you can still make it to the Oxford party at Camera tomorrow (Friday 13th July) or London Whisky Mist club on Saturday – you can register for the chance to win VIP passes at http://nelly.com/uk/events/high-heels/
