Win Florida holidays in the Heart family Star Wars challenge!

Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge opens 29th August 2019 at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Walt Disney World Resort – and to celebrate, Virgin Holidays have teamed up with Heart to give away FIVE amazing holidays to Florida in their Star Wars Galaxy competition.

In a creative competition that’s reminiscent of both Faces for Florida and EE Family Challenge, you’ll need to complete one of five Star Wars themed challenges and upload your photo or video to the Heart website. Winning entries will be judged!

The Prize

Each of the five winners receive the same family trip to Florida including:

  • Four return economy flights to Orlando International Airport (MCO) from London Gatwick or Manchester Airport
  • Transfers between the airport and Walt Disney World Resort via Disney’s Magical Express.
  • One standard room (with a maximum of four persons per room) for seven nights at a hotel at Walt Disney World Resort on room only board basis
  • Four Disney’s 7-Day Ultimate Tickets
  • One Disney gift card to the value of $1000.

Holidays can be taken between 1st January to 17th December 2020, excluding 3rd April – 19th April, 3rd July – 6th July and 20th November – 29th November.

How to enter

Choose one of the five challenges – I would guess that each winner will be a different challenge, so you might want to choose the one you reckon least people will do so you have less competition….

  • Do your best Chewbacca impression.
  • Dress up as Jedi.
  • Build a homemade lightsaber
  • Build your very own Millennium Falcon
  • Bake Star Wars™ themed cupcakes.

When you’ve completed your challenge, upload your photo or video at – you’ll need to complete your contact details or log in to your Heart account. Although entries aren’t shared publicly, you have the option to share your Instagram username in case Heart want to re-post your entry.

Make sure your entry is in before 10.00am on these days to be considered): 12th July, 15th July, 16th July, 17th July and 18th July all entries will be considered for each of the five competitions, so get your entry in early!

40 random entries will be chosen on each of the separate closing dates – and then the show’s producers will then choose one daily winner from those – judging entries on originality, creativity, humour, being family-friendly and feel-good.

T&Cs don’t say when the winners will be contacted – so make sure you have your phone handy if you’ve entered!

Check out the terms and conditions here. Good luck!

UPDATE! Capital FM version

Capital are also giving away one holiday. It’s the same prize, closing date and creative brief but entries will be judged on originality, creativity and humour (no mention of family friendly or feel good) – I would suggest you include friends in the entry rather than family, as Capital has a much younger demographic! Enter at and check T&Cs here. I would guess it’s fine to enter both the Heart and the Capital competition – but it may be safer to upload a different photo for each…..

The winners!

A few people missed the winner announcements for this, so here are the five Heart winners:

Is it fair or greedy that at least 2 of the Star Wars winners won Heart’s Faces for Florida comps both this year and last only to go on air as if they’ve never been before (personally it sickened me and others I know)? Is there any guilt from these greedy serial compers that other little children miss out because their parents aren’t fine tuning their Heart competition entry skills by years of practice previous practice.

Personally I have never entered Faces for Florida (or this Star Wars Florida comp) since I won it in the first year – I’d much rather somebody else had a chance to win the prize! But if the radio stations don’t have a problem with the same people winning prizes (and only putting a short 6 month ban into their T&Cs) then does it matter? These compers are the best at what they do – and put a LOT of time and imagination into their entries! Isn’t it a bit like suggesting Lewis Hamilton should give the next Grand Prix season a miss because he’s too good? If you’re really good at something, use your talents when you can (as long as the rules allow it!)
If it does bother you though, why not register your concerns directly with Global Radio? Ask them to add a clause to their judged creative competitions that gives people a 12 month ban – or they could add a clause to next year’s FFF T&Cs to say ‘Entries from previous Faces for Florida winners – or any member of their household – will not be considered’. I’m sure there wouldn’t be too many complaints if Heart did this, after all there are plenty more holiday comps to go around for the more creative compers out there!
