Local luck
Local comps have less entries than national comps, and aren’t as widely publicised – so they are usually much easier to win! Here’s a trio of winners that got lucky locally…
Joanne won a golfing treat for her son…
“I started comping in December 2016, following Di’s guidance I focused on local competitions for an increased chance of winning. I entered a competition at our local golf academy to win 100 x golf balls and a 1 hour lesson with their club professional and I won! It was a Twitter comp with a fun video and we had to guess the amount of times the golfer hit the ball, we were the nearest and got the winning tweet to get in touch and arrange our winning session with them. My son is a young junior golfer and was over the moon with his prize which he quickly used up during the Christmas school holidays. Persistence and some great advice from Di helped us achieve our first ever win and it felt awesome!”
Teresa won a fabulously unusual prize!
“Back in the summer I was lucky enough to win a fab champagne cork stool. It was a local comp and I followed Di’s advice and sent a unusual postcard – let’s say it stood out!”

Louise had a lovely experience at the theatre.
“My best competition prize last year was 2 tickets to see stage show Mamma Mia in the West End of London. We had amazing seats (second row of the Dress Circle) and were really looked after by the staff at the theatre as they all knew I was a competition winner. It was a lovely surprise win from my local newspaper.”
