SuperLucky Comping Calendar: Never miss an event day!
We all know that brands love a reason to celebrate. From the big annual events like Mother’s Day and Valentine’s Day to more recent additions to the calendar, like #BlueMonday, #WorldBookDay, #RandomActsOfKindnessDay, and even #InternationalGinAndTonicDay, event days are fantastic sources of giveaways!
But the secret to winning event day competitions isn’t just luck – it’s preparation!
If you know a key date is coming up, you can get your creative entry ready before the rush. You can snap a pancake photo, type up the perfect nomination or add vintage Father’s Day photos to a new album on your phone, ready to post on the day!

How to use the Comping Calendar to win
- Subscribe to the Calendar: log into your Google account, then go to superlucky.me/compingcalendar and tap Add to Google Calendar (or the + sign on mobile), which will add the dates to your own Google calendar – you can tick to toggle the calendar on and off via the menu (or if you don’t want to subscribe, you can just save the link and check regularly!)
- Check ahead: At the start of each month, take a quick look at what’s coming up.
- Get creative early: If you see #PancakeDay is next week, buy your ingredients now. Take your pancake photos this weekend when the lighting is good, rather than rushing it on a dark Tuesday evening!
- Search the hashtag: On the day itself, search the specific hashtag (eg. #NationalTeaDay) on Instagram, Facebook and X (Twitter) to find low-entry competitions that other people might miss.
- Search Google: Two methods I use to find event day comps on Google are a general web search with results restricted to the last week (see example). And then I add site:instagram.com to my search to show only Instagram content (see example). You can adapt my search terms to create your own bespoke searches, which you can bookmark and re-use!
