How to enter Global Cash Call for free

Global’s Cash Call is a massive cash giveaway that runs across multiple UK radio stations, including Heart, Capital, Radio X, Smooth Radio, Classic FM, LBC and Gold. There’s usually a weekly prize given away every Friday, which can be up to £1,000,000!

Paid text entry to Global Cash Call costs £2.50 plus standard network rate (so around £2.65 per entry) but you can save money with a 5 or 10 entry bundle, saving you the cost of the extra standard network rate charges. Or you can enter online up to 150 times per day – the cost per entry reduces if you pay for multiple entries (150 entries is £40, which is just under 27p each). But there’s no need to spend your money – read on to find out how you can enter 18 times a day for FREE simply by making a phone call!

Do people really win Cash Call with free entries?

Yes they do! Winners are selected completely at random from all entries, regardless of whether someone paid to enter. There will always be thousands of people who pay to enter as the text entry is the method that’s widely advertised on air, and much easier to do – so the prize fund still stays high. And of course, if you’re not a regular comper then you probably won’t be reading T&Cs to find the details of free entry methods, so not everyone knows about the freebie entry route.

How can I enter Global Cash Call for free?

Rather than sending a text message, or paying to enter online, you should choose the phone option and call the number listed in the T&Cs. Each week this changes to an alternative number. For the draw starting on 4 September and closing 5pm on 11 September to win £800,000, the number to call is 03434 151151. You can make up to a maximum of 150 entries across the duration of the competition.

The phone call is standard rate – if you have a mobile contract or Pay Monthly bundle that has inclusive minutes, this call should be completely FREE. If you use Pay-As-You-Go then the call may NOT be free, so please check your balance before and after the call to see how much money it costs you.

During the call, you’ll need to press 1 or 2 to opt in/out of marketing (I suggest pressing 2 to opt out!) and an automated response will repeat your mobile phone number back. Then your phone number will be repeated – press number 1 on your keypad to confirm it’s correct. Then redial for your next entry!

Can I call using a landline phone?

No, the call needs to be made from a mobile phone.

When should I enter Cash Call?

You can enter Cash Call at any time between 5pm on a Friday and 5pm the following Friday.

How many times can I enter Cash Call?

Check T&Cs carefully just in case they change, but in August 2026 you could enter up to 100 times a day (£30 of paid entries) or 150 times a week (free entries). Entries do not roll over into the following week’s draw – they are ONLY for that week.

How do I find out the prize cash amount for Cash Call?

The Cash Call amount changes weekly – all participating Global radio stations will mention it regularly on air, and it’s also on the main Cash Call website.

How and when do they choose the winner?

The winning entry is chosen at random from all combined paid and free entries, after the lines close at 5pm on a Friday.

What number do they call winners from?

It’s not known which number they call from, and it may show as ‘witheld number’, ‘unknown number’ or ‘no caller ID’ on the incoming call. If you enter competitions you should ALWAYS answer a call from an unknown number.

What time do Global call the winners?

The winning Cash Call is made just after 5pm on a Friday, then played out on the air a little later.

Do I need to say a certain phrase when I answer?

No, all you need to do is answer the call – ‘Hello!’ is fine!

What happens if I miss the winning call?

You must answer the call, as Global will only call once. If you don’t answer or it goes to voicemail or a call screening service, they will call a new winner.

Where can I see full Global Cash Call terms & conditions?

Full terms and conditions for Cash Call are at https://www.winplus.co.uk/competition/11818/cash-call

Do I need to be in the UK when I enter Global Cash Call?

Yes, Cash Call is only open to UK residents aged 18 and older and you must be in the UK at the time of entry

Can I enter if I’m on a Global ‘ban’?

If you win a prize worth £1,000 or more (or two prizes of any value) on Global stations, Global is likely to tell you directly that you are unable to enter Global comps for a 6 month period, and this includes Cash Call. Although the specific Cash Call T&Cs do not mention anything about the 6 month ban, rule 2 does state that the main Global terms and conditions also apply to Cash Call. And these general Global T&Cs do specifically mention the 6 month ban: “So that we can ensure the fairness of our Promotions, you acknowledge and agree that if you win a prize in any of our Promotions valued at £1,000 or above; or if you have won more than one prize during the previous six months then we reserve the right to withdraw from you, at our absolute discretion, any prize awarded to you, in error or otherwise, during a period of six months”. We suggest it’s safest NOT to enter Cash Call until your six month ban is up!

What are the odds of winning Global Cash Call?

Global do not make the entry numbers public, but this promotion is widely publicised and with entrants able to make up to multiple entries each week, there will be well over a million entries. If you have time to maximise your free entries then that will increase your chances, as many entrants will only take part once! If you want to enter radio competitions with a better chance of winning (sometimes as low as 1-in-10!) then enter the ‘sponsored’ promotions on air that only give you a couple of minutes to call, text or WhatsApp the studio – or enter the competitions where you pre-register with an entertaining story online and entries are judged. We share these comps on my Lucky Legends member forum, and members also have the option to join a WhatsApp group where we post tips and the cues to enter. My post on How to win radio competitions gives lots more tips!

Can I use shortcuts to press buttons during my phone entry?

It’s possible to get your phone to automatically press numerical buttons during a call, by inserting commas into the saved number – for example 0330 880 9154,,,,,,,,,,,,2,,,,,,,,,,1.

When we contacted Global to ask if this was allowed, they responded by quoting from the terms and conditions that “We reserve the right to withhold any prize from you if we believe that you are using automated dialling technology” – so we recommend you do NOT use this shortcut method, and that you manually press the buttons yourself.

Hello Di, next Friday’s (31/7) Cash Call prize is a cool £1million! I don’t know about you, but I can’t remember any radio comp prize ever being this high?

    • Di says:

Other than Heart’s Make me a Millionaire, I do think this is the biggest – they must be getting a LOT of paid entries! Good luck!

      • Jim says:

Yes, they must be! They’ve teetered around the £1 million mark with the prizes before, but never actually offered this much (as far as I know). Good luck to you as well, if you’ve entered (which I’m sure you have)!

  2. Jim says:

Ooops, spotted an error! This week’s prize is £750,000, not £600,000!

  3. Jim says:

I recently Googled the odds of winning Global Cash Call, and I found estimates ranging from one in 300,000 to one in a million. I imagine that these odds apply to each individual entry, so having multiple entries must surely be an advantage…

  4. Neil D says:

You can now enter 18 times a day via the free entry route.
    Good luck!

    • Jim says:

Yes, I noticed they has increased the daily free phone entries!

      • Di says:

Great news – the info in the post has been updated to reflect this!

        • Jim says:

Hello Di, they have also recently changed the maximum daily number of paid-for online entries from 100 to 150, and raised the price from £30 to £40! There are sometimes discount codes available, but they usually only offer a small discount of maybe 25% or so, and they are not available every week.

          • Di says:

Thanks Jim – I’ve also updated the info about the max paid entries in this post.

  5. nik says:

how many people are utilizing the free calls? And has anyone big by entering for free (Cash Call or MMAW)

    • nik says:

**Has anyone WON big by entering for free 🙂 (Cash Call or MMAW)

      • Jim says:

I asked Di about this, and nobody in her group has ever won Cash Call! Also, there aren’t any other FB groups about this comp (as far as I know), so it’s difficult to get any info..

  6. David says:

    Hi Di
I’ve entered all different competitions and didn’t win anything, to be honest the odds of winning Make me a winner or global are a Billion to one,

  7. captain chris says:

so is it best to use the commars + 1 or not?

  8. Chris says:

I’m unclear from the references to ‘rollovers’ whether Global only payout if the first caller answers? If so, it’s hugely less generous than Bauer / Rayo’s draw where they keep calling until someone answers and always pay out.

  9. Fiona says:

Our text facility/signal here is useless.. I have to go a couple of miles down the road to make a call and even that isn’t guaranteed to work. Would I be allowed to enter cash call with a landline number?

  10. BT says:

Is anyone having trouble with the phone number this week? 0300 8809134- When I call through the number for this week, it says the phone number isn’t recognised? I know they change it every week- just wondering if anyone else is able to ring through with the number this week?!

  11. Rob Phillips says:

How do I enter online please?

  12. selina says:

Hi – will the call be free from a landline phone also? TIA

    • Di says:

It would depend on your contract but usually the calls would be included as free!

      • Jim says:

Hello Di, no you can’t enter from a landline! Just to be sure, I just tried this using my own landline, & the message told me to re-dial from a mobile phone! Jim.

  13. Terry says:

Is there a phrase you need to say or do you just need to answer the phone? I don’t want to be the one that’s called and I don’t say the correct thing haha

  14. Bea says:

Hi Di, This number keeps saying incorrect number, have been trying since Friday,

    • Di says:

An extra zero snuck in Bea – apologies! It’s 03308809154 .

You can always check by clicking the link to CASH CALL in the first sentence of the post!

  15. Niki says:

    Hi
How many people do you think enter the competition- 1000? And do you think most people pay via text or free entry, I called via the free number this week- 70 entries in total as per T&Cs and hoping I get picked. Didn’t see anything posted about the winner last week?

  16. HeatherAdventurer says:

Does ‘automated’ include using redial do you think?

  17. Bolaji Arogundade says:

Good to play without cash payment

  18. Josh says:

Do you have to say anything if they call to win it?

  19. Tracey Sinnott says:

how do you add the commas pls?

    • Di says:

Tracey, I’ve had an email from Global today that implies the automated key press is a breach of T&Cs so I no longer recommend using this method for Cash Call.
For future reference though, you just add the usual number to your phone contacts with commas at the end (your phone keypad may actually say PAUSE on it rather than a comma) and then type the number key you want it to press, eg. 0800222333,,,,,,,,,,1
