How to enter Heart Splash the Cash for free

Heart Splash the Cash has now finished – but hopefully it will return in the future! The current promotion is Cash Call.

Great news! Heart Radio have just started a brand new big money giveaway, Heart Splash the Cash –and they’ve included a FREE phone entry option which we usually only see for the Bauer Radio competitions like Cash Register and Make Me A Winner!

Splash the Cash is on air from 23 June to 22 August 2025, and will have a cash prize of at least £25,000 for each ’round’ of the competition (this increased from £10,000 on 11 July). There could be several rounds on air each day, every day of the week between 8am and 7pm. When the alarm sounds on air, a winner will be called and they must answer their phone saying ‘Heart, Splash the Cash!’ to claim their prize. If they don’t do this, the prize money rolls over to the next round.

Paid text entry to Heart Splash the Cash costs £2 plus standard network rate (so around £2.15 per entry) and online entry also costs £2. But PLEASE don’t waste your money doing this – read on to find out how you can enter up to 15 times in each competition round, by making free phone calls!

How can I enter Heart Splash the Cash for free?

Rather than sending a text message, or paying to enter online, you should choose the phone option, and call 0330 8809131 (the number changes often – this is correct on 13 August!)

The phone call is standard rate – if you have a mobile contract or Pay Monthly bundle that has inclusive minutes, this call should be completely FREE. If you use Pay-As-You-Go then the call may NOT be free, so please check your balance before and after the call to see how much money it costs you. When you call, you will first have the option to receive SMS messages from Heart. You can decline these by pressing 2 on your keypad. Then an automated response will repeat your mobile phone number back. Press number 1 on your keypad to confirm it’s correct. The call takes around 40 seconds. Then redial for your next entry!

Do free entries really go into the draw with paid entries?

Winners are chosen completely at random from all entries – it doesn’t matter whether someone paid to enter or used a free method. Most entrants tend to use the paid text entry option because it’s the one that’s heavily promoted on air and is quicker and easier to do – which means the prize fund still stays high. And let’s be honest, if you’re not a comper, you’re probably not going to be digging through the terms and conditions to find the free entry option – so many people simply don’t realise it’s even available! FOUR members of the Lucky Learners Facebook group have won prizes in Splash the Cash 2025 – all of them used the free entry route.

Who can enter Heart Splash the Cash?

Only GB residents aged 18+ are eligible to enter, and you must be in Great Britain when you call – you can’t enter if you’re abroad!

When should I enter Heart Splash the Cash?

You can enter Heart Splash the Cash every day of the week, and your entry will only be valid for the round you enter. There will be ‘alarms’ throughout the day between 8am and 7pm to signal the end of a round, and the winner will be called shortly after the alarm. Once the alarm plays on air, the lines reset for the next round, and you’ll need to call again if you want to be included in the next draw. You can call overnight.

How long is an entry round?

Terms and conditions state that a Promotion Round can be open for up to 72 hours, but its more likely that there will be several rounds a day.

How many times can I enter Splash the Cash?

If you use the paid text or online entry methods, you can enter up to 15 times each day up to the £30 spend cap (if you also pay to enter other Global comps, you’ll have less entries available for Splash the Cash as the £30 is across all Win+ comps). If you use the free entry phone calls, you get a higher limit – and can enter up to 15 times each round.

How do I find out the prize cash amount for Splash the Cash?

You’ll have to listen to Heart FM to find out the current cash prize. When it’s won, it resets to £25,000 (although the terms do say this amount can be anything, not necessarily £25k!). If the winner doesn’t answer the phone, or says anything except ‘Heart Splash the Cash’, the money is not won and that money is added to the prize for the next round.

How and when do they choose the winner?

The winning entry is chosen at random from all combined paid and free entries, after the alarm is sounded.

What number do Heart call winners from?

The number may show as 0345 605 1062 – save this to your contacts as Heart Splash the Cash (ideally, save the logo above as a visual reminder of what to say if they call!) – but the number may also show as ‘witheld number’, ‘unknown number’ or ‘no caller ID’ on the incoming call. If you enter competitions, you should always answer unknown numbers!

What time do Heart call winners?

The winning call will be made shortly after the alarm sounds on air.

Do I need to say ‘Heart, Splash the Cash!’ as soon as I answer the phone?

If your phone rings just after the alarm has sounded (which will be between 8am and 7pm) the first thing you say as soon as you answer MUST be the phrase that pays: ‘Heart, Splash the Cash!’. Otherwise you’ll forfeit your prize and the money will be added to the prize fund for the next round.

What happens if I miss the call?

You must answer before the call goes to voicemail or is disconnected. If you don’t answer in that time, you’ve missed out.

Do entries roll over to the next round if the prize isn’t won?

Your entries are only eligible for the current round of Splash the Cash. If the prize money isn’t won, the prize fund increases by £25k and you will need to enter again for the next round.

When does Splash the Cash end?

The Splash the Cash competition has been extended by two weeks and finishes on Friday 25th July 2025.

What happens if I win Splash the Cash?

Winners may be asked questions to establish their eligibility for the prize (for example, their address and whether they have recently won any other prizes with Global Radio). Winners may also be asked to take part in publicity.

Where can I see full terms & conditions?

Hello Di, do you think this competition is still fairly easy to win since they reduced the number of free entries from 75 to 15? Maybe there are still fewer people entering because of the random phonecall times? Or have the odds incresed a lot now?

    • Di says:

At the start when it was £10,000 and not many people knew about the comp, the prizes were given out more frequently, and you could get 75 free entries – so it was heavily weighted towards dedicated compers! When it grew to bigger cash prizes, more on air promotion and longer between the alarms, there will be a lot more entries I’m afraid!

Hello, is anyone else having trouble entering via the free number 0330 880 9158 on Thursday morning (7/8)? The line keeps going silent or hanging up..

  3. Jim says:

A new round has started as of Wednesday 30th & the number has changed again! It’s 0330 880 9118. Still 15 free entries, but don’t know yet how much the jackpot is…

  4. Jim says:

Hello Di, the phone number has reverted to an earlier one, and it’s now 0330 880 9102. I’m not sure exactly when it changed…

  5. Jim says:

Hello Di, If anyone wants to know the current prize amount, this can be checked by going to https://winplus.heart.co.uk/competition/9010/heart-splash-the-cash?redirected=true

  6. Jim says:

The phone number has changed again as of Monday 14th July, It’s now 0330 880 9147…

  7. Jim says:

Hello Di, Heart have extended the competition, which was supposed to end today! It will now run between Friday 11th July 2025 to Friday 25th July 2025!

  8. Jim says:

They’ve once again changed the number as of Friday 11th. It’s now 0330 880 9139!

Hello Di, they’ve changed the phone number again (Weds 9th July)! It’s now 0330 880 9118

  10. Jim says:

I just tried to check whether I can enter on Saturday 5th at 3:30pm, & the lines seem to be closed at the moment! I also couldn’t enter by text. I didn’t realise they ever closed…

  11. Jim says:

Hello again, another thing I forgot to mention- while you’re entering, as soon as your call connects, you can fast-forward to where you are given the option to receive updates, by pressing ‘2’. Then, you can fast forward to the part where your phone number is read out by pressing ‘2’ again. You can press ‘1’ to enter as soon as she has finished reading out your phone number. It all helps to save a bit of time during each call!

    • Jim says:

So, if you press all the right buttons at the right times as described above, it should take you around 40 minutes to complete all 75 free entries… Good luck!

  12. Jim says:

Hello Di, I just noticed that they have changed the free phone number for some reason! It’s now 0330 880 9102!

  13. John says:

I guess we are all excited about this one. Unless it’s a glitch when a new round started I was told I have reached maximum entries. Unless a round includes rollovers.

    • Jim says:

I think they only start a new round when someone wins? If no-one picks up the call, I think they roll over the prize & add it to the next call…

      • Di says:

A new round starts when they announce it on air, last night it was about 45 minutes after the alarm went off and the winner failed to pick up.

  14. Jim says:

Morning Di, another nice thing about this comp is that it seems to be exclusive to Heart radio, and isn’t covered by other Global stations like Smooth & Capital. On the other hand, Make Me A Winner is covered by most or all the Bauer ones. This could mean that the pool of listeners may be smaller, and therefore there could be a greater chance of winning. Plus, given the unpredictability of the call time & the need to repeat back the phrase, this could favour those seasoned at playing radio competitions, who may be better prepared…

  15. mark says:

every time i do a comp i. get allsorts of phone call from who ever

    • Di says:

Receiving junk calls isn’t necessarily related to entering a competition though – a lot of junk calls are automated and are programmed to call random numbers!

  16. Jim says:

Hello Di, thanks for this useful article. For me, the major problem with this particular comp, is that they could phone at any time during the day, which is a problem if you don’t regularly listen to Heart, as you wouldn’t hear the alarm going off! I enter quite a few competitions, and could get a call from any of them. So, I guess it would be a good idea to answer any phonecalls from unknown callers with the phrase… I’m not sure how this would affect any callers from other competitions though…
