2025: my comping year

As we near the end of another action-packed year, it’s time for one of my annual traditions: looking back at the wins and experiences that made the last twelve months so memorable! As usual, I created a Prize Wishlist Bingo Card for 2025 – featuring 24 prizes I wanted to win! Pinning my wishlist up about the kitchen sink where I see it every day helps me focus my comping efforts.

This year I won 13 of the prizes on my wishlist: a sunny holiday, garden items, BCFC tickets, supermarket vouchers, a meal in London, gifts for my great nieces, clothes, Asian food, a Fitbit, a Brighton night out, £1000+ cash win, John Lewis voucher and a prize for a friend. I’ve had a haircut on my wish list for two years with no success, but I’m not giving up and it’s on my 2026 wish list, along with a European break!

Now, let’s take a look at all my statistics and enjoy a review of my comping year!

My 2025 prizes

In 2025 I won 148 prizes with a total value of £12,943. As I’ve done for many years, I tracked my wins using a Google spreadsheet which means I can see how well I did in the different prize promotion formats. Check out the clever new spreadsheet format by making your own copy – you can see the second tab now has all the statistics easily accessible!

This year I’ve had less comping time than usual as I’ve been focused on improving content for Lucky Legends and helping community members win prizes! I probably entered about 15 comps on average each day – some daily entry/instant win comps (these might be text, app or online entry), a purchase necessary comp, a couple of radio comps (online or standard rate call/text). I check the emails in my inbox, and then a few Instagram comps. Of course I check the New Posts on the Lucky Legends forum every day for great new competitions too!

What type of comps did I win?

Of my 148 prizes won in 2025, 9 were creative photo or video comps (7 of these were judged, 2 were randomly picked), and I had two on-air radio wins. 75 required a product purchase, and the total value of my PN (purchase necessary) prizes over the year was £6,083.

Where did I win these competitions?

In 2025, most of my wins were from website entry forms, some of which I found details of in newsletters. I won 29 prizes on Instagram, but only 1 prize on X (Twitter), 3 prizes on TikTok and nothing at all on Facebook. I won 5 text-to-win comps.

My 2025 highlights

So, let’s check out the highlights of my comping year! In January I ticked off three wishlist prizes – tickets to see Birmingham City FC (Cadbury instant win) and a Fitbit (Tesco text-to-win), plus a Brighton night out – a meal at Botanique!

My biggest win of the year was a trip to India from the Keralan tourist board. Unfortunately the trip had to be taken on a set date in September, and I had already booked my £5,000 Magic radio holiday to the Baltics for the same week, so I couldn’t go. I’m hoping in 2026 I will win another Asian holiday to make up for the disappointment!

In February I went on a lovely glamping break at Wowo with Susannah which I won on Instagram at the end of 2024. And my second biggest win of the year was £2,000 cash which I won on the first day of the Doritos instant win competition!

In May we went on a fantastic family break to New York thanks to my 2024 text-to-win entry with Brooklyn Beer – we were treated to a special tasting session at the brewery!

I won some great health & fitness related prizes this year – my favourite was the Six Pack Revolution 75-day online course, worth £175. This also came with a set of battle ropes. I committed to this in September, working out 6 days a week and sticking to the diet as closely as I could, and was really pleased with the results (I lost about 5 kg and feel so much fitter!). I also won a bundle of Optimum Nutrition goodies and £100 to spend at My Protein. Ry is at the gym regularly so he found the prizes useful too!

I won a few “year’s supply of” prizes in 2025 – Fairy Bio Pods (my only win on X this year!), Nocco energy drink and Everleaf non-alcoholic spirit (which I shared with my mum!)

I had some handy instant wins in purchase necessary comps – £100 cash with Florette salad, £100 Patagonia voucher with Rubicon, and £100 cash with Green Giant. I also won an annual Sea Life Centre pass in the Innocent & Burger King competition.

In September I went on my big Magic Radio prize reunion adventure with my best friend Jo. The prize was £5,000 to spend towards a reunion, so we travelled for 2 weeks around Europe, starting in Helskini, then to Tallinn, Saaremaa and Riga – plus a day trip to Lithuania! It was such an amazing experience and the first holiday we’ve had as just the two of us.

When I returned from my European adventures, I attended an event for membership owners, Retain Live, in Newcastle and was delighted to win a prize by completing a full card in their fun bingo game – it was two tickets to the Long Haul Leader event in Cambridge, dinner, a year’s membership of the Membership Academy and a 1-to-1 call with the founder Mike. This was a super valuable business related prize, which was been so useful in helping me plan the future of Lucky Legends!

In October I worked hard on getting the second Lucky Legends Radio Comps WhatsApp group up and running, and we’ve had lots of success! I’ve had two nice wins myself since then – a £250 Wickes voucher on Magic and a pair of Airpods on Kiss (just what Ry wanted for Christmas!). Smaller wins on Bauer mean I don’t have a 6 month ban yet, so can continue to enter for the big prizes!

I had some nice Instagram wins again this year, including a £250 HappyBeds voucher with Silk Collection goodies and a set of four cute Kenji soft toys, which I gave to my great nieces for Christmas.

I also ticked a prize off my ultimate wishlist when I won a MacBook in VeeTee’s judged creative competition in November, the perfect gift for Ry’s 16th birthday. I dressed up as Mac’n’Cheesehead for the photo!

I ended the year by winning £250 cash in the Royal Mail Magical Draw – and also won £250 for Carolyn, the comper who won my Gold Friday giveaway.

I must also say thanks to the compers who shared prizes with me in 2025! Gyongyi took me to watch the NFL in London, and Amy-Jo gave me two of the Great Escape tickets she won. A comper who shall remain anonymous gave me a ticket to Glastonbury, and I had the most fantastic time! And lovely Jeanie won lunch at The Ivy’s private dining room (with unlimited Whispering Angel wine) to watch the Wimbledon Final – she asked if I would like to use the prize so I invited the local compers along!

SuperLucky Community news

2025 has been another busy year for SuperLucky! My friend and Brighton Breezy Comp Club member Andrea won us a party at the Number 10 Hotel in Glasgow – so we decided to use this as a celebration of Lucky Learners 10th birthday! We had so much fun, with lots of prizes, a fun disco and plenty of random mayhem! – read all about it here.

In April I also celebrated ten years of Di’s Prize Unboxing! Updated versions of my BootComp planner were published on Amazon in November, and I also ordered some fun Lucky trolley coins, notebooks and pens that I could post out as part of limited edition bundles!

In December my Christmas gift to the community was to remove all Mediavine advertising from the SuperLucky website, to make it a more enjoyable experience for compers!

Plans for 2026

I know I keep saying this every year – but I really must get my new beginners book How to Win Competitions published in 2026! I plan to update and republish some of the older helpful advice here on the website, to share more helpful video content online, and also run a couple of real life hands-on BootComp sessions!
